About Miiny Poker Texas Holdem

Texas Hold ‘Em is the most popular Poker game, but how about showing your skills against the best players from all over the world? Take a seat, place your bets, and play the way you want to play with “Miiny Poker” - Texas Hold ‘Em!

Brand new to Texas Hold ’Em Poker? Lets run through a hand so you can learn how to master the table.

The Rules
Before the start of the game, each player is dealt two cards, face down. These cards are called “hole cards”. With these cards in hand, you’ll decide on your bet - should you Check, Bet and Fold. Your betting decision during the start of the game, called a pre-flop, is based on the “hold cards”, your starting hand.

Once the bets have been placed, the dealer deals three shared cards face up in the middle of the table. This is called the “flop”. Once these three cards have been revealed, another round of betting commences, and the fourth shared card is dealt - called the “turn”.

After the fourth card is revealed, all players are able to bet once more. Now the final fifth shared card, called the “river” is dealt. Players get one last chance to bet and win it big.

So how do you know which are the best possible set of cards? See below for the Poker card rankings.

The Hand
The best hand is made in a combination of your “hole” cards and the five cards shared by all players.

Poker players should be familiar with the rules - if you have 9-9 and the shared cards are 9-9-A-5-2 you have four-of-a-kind. If the shared cards were J-Q-K-7-2 you would only have two nines.

If the table is extremely lucky, the best Texas Hold ‘Em hand can be made with only the five shared cards on the table. If they were 10-10-10-10-A and you had a 9-9 as your “hole” cards, you would disregard your “hole” cards as there’s a better four-of-a-kind of higher value already on the table.

The End
There are two ways to sweep the table and win.

First is a old school “showdown”, where all players turn over their hole cards - the player with the best hand wins.

The other way is pysche your opponents by betting high enough that everyone else decides to fold. This is how most games end, and that’s why the magic of Texas Hold ‘Em is you don’t always need the best hand to win.

Know your poker rankings
A poker hand is made up of five cards, and fall into one of several winning hands. The player with the highest ranked poker hand (usually) wins, so here’s the poker ranks from the best to the worst.

Royal flush
A royal flush is an ace high straight flush. For example, A-K-Q-J-10 all of diamonds.

Straight flush
A straight flush is a five-card straight, all in the same suit. For example, 7-6-5-4-3 all of clubs.

Four of a kind
Four of a kind, or quads, are four cards of equal value. For example, four jacks.

Full house
A full house contains a set (3) of cards of one value and a pair of another value. For example, Q-Q-Q-2-2.

Flush
A flush is any 5 cards, all of the same suit. For example, K-Q-9-6-3 all of diamonds.

Straight
Five cards of sequential value. Every possible straight will contain either a 5 or a 10. For example, 7-6-5-4-3 with different suits.

Three of a kind
Three cards of the same value. For example, three aces.

Two pairs
This is two cards of one value and another two cards of another value. For example, two jacks and two 8s.

Pair
One pair is two cards of the same rank. For example, two queens.

High card
The hand with the highest card(s) wins. If two or more players hold the highest card, a kicker comes into play.

Ties and kickers
It’s possible for players on the table to tie, especially with a four of a kind, three of a kind, two pair, one pair or high card. In this case, a side card, better known as a “kicker” will break the tie and determine who wins the pot. The hand Q-Q-10-5-2 is ranked as a pair of queens. The 10, 5, and 2 are kickers.

Against the above hand, Q-Q-K-3-2 would win (because its K kicker outranks the 10), but Q-Q-10-4-3 would lose (because its 4 is outranked by the 5).
