Aurora Borealis Update

This winter, it’s time to snuggle up with a cup of tea as we take a wintry trip to Iceland in the Aurora Borealis Update! Explore Reykjavík, the northernmost capital in the world, with fantasy-like hues inspired by the northern lights. Iceland’s largest city is home to narrow peninsulas and a cove-dotted coastline, and it’s up to you to keep the city moving!

This update to Mini Motorways includes:

• A brand new map! Traverse the narrow peninsulas and rugged coves of our new map, Reykjavík.
• New Achievements, Daily Challenges, Weekly Challenges, and City Challenges.
• Additional checks for iCloud functionality to ensure save progress is synced.
• Various minor bug fixes and performance improvements.

Recent Patch + The Miniversary Update

The latest patch to Mini Motorways addresses recent bugs, including:

• Save game issues with the Busan map challenge titled ‘All Gas No Brakes’. With this fix, you should be able to resume your saved game.
• Visual pink errors and freezing on maps while playing Expert Mode on iOS 17.

It's our Miniversary, and to celebrate ten years of Mini Metro, the game that started it all for Dinosaur Polo Club, we’re releasing one of our biggest updates ever, with a pack of new maps to enjoy, each of which features our newest building type! This update includes:

• Three brand-new maps! Three of Mini Metro’s most popular cities are now available in Mini Motorways, including the winner of our player vote, New York City. Recreate London’s iconic roundabouts or attempt to recreate Mumbai’s famous expressways.
• Train stations! These cities are home to bustling railway networks already, and it’s your job to ensure their trains don’t interrupt your traffic! Train stations are new building types that will require careful planning and attention as you draw your roads around unique existing railroads to keep up with the demands of these new challenges.
• Each of these maps also includes all-new challenges and achievements.
• This update also features various improvements and bug fixes.

The Extra for Experts Update

We’re excited to share a bonus update this month! Introducing the Extra for Experts update, featuring brand new Daily Challenges that offer advanced difficulty for players who want to put their city planning skills to the test.

This update includes:

• One Daily Challenge per week featuring Expert Mode as a challenge modifier.
• Back-end controls for the development team to create a smoother player experience for Daily and Weekly Challenges. This should result in much quicker fixes to challenges in the future.
• An assortment of bug fixes and performance improvements.

The Bridge to Busan update

Pack your bags and don’t forget your sun hat as you make your way to the newest addition to Mini Motorways, the coastal city of Busan! Explore the colourful Southeastern tip of the Korean Peninsula where the Nakdong River meets the Port of Busan.

This update to Mini Motorways includes:
• The newest map: Busan! This famous port city is known for its stunning beaches, vibrant landscape, and world-class culinary scene – not to mention it is home to over 3.5 million residents. It’s up to you to keep the city moving!
• New Daily Challenges, Weekly Challenges, and City Challenges.
• Various bug fixes and performance improvements, including a fix to a significant bug causing save issues and game crashes.

The Bridge to Busan update

Mini Motorways is shifting gears with our biggest update so far! You can now take a trip around the world at your own speed with two exciting new gameplay options - Endless Mode and Expert Mode.

Whether you want to take the pressure off with Endless Mode and explore each city at your leisure, or go for a joyride with Expert Mode and kick it into high gear, this update brings something for everyone.

This update includes:
• Endless Mode - a brand new way of playing Mini Motorways, allowing you to enjoy the game without the threat of a city ending before you want it to, or for those wishing to keep playing after Game Over, you can continue your city in Endless Mode and explore the city that could have been.
• Expert Mode - Unlock a new set of challenges and obstacles, such as permanent roads and limited upgrades, perfect for players who want to switch up their strategy and kick it up a notch. This new game mode also comes with its own leaderboard so you can see how you measure up against the game’s most skilled city planners.
• New Endless Mode and Expert Mode achievements.
• We've added the ability to choose whether you zoom in to draw roads in your city with several different zoom levels, so you can choose how you'd like to play. We’ve also fixed an issue where this new zoom feature was defaulting to off for some players. These features were much-requested by our community, so thank you for your feedback!
• A new button has been added to the weekly upgrade screen which allows you to view your city before selecting your upgrade.
• New visual indicators for in-game error messages to reduce the number of pop-up boxes on screen.
• Various bug fixes and performance improvements.

The Caminho Portugûes Update

Get ready for a sun-soaked holiday as Mini Motorways travels to the Iberian Peninsula with our latest map! Brilliant blues and tricky geography await you in Lisbon, Portugal.
This update to Mini Motorways includes:

• A new map! Lisbon, the capital city of Portugal, is a thriving historical port city at the mouth of the Tagus river which also marks the beginning of the Caminho Portugûes pilgrimage route. It’s up to you to keep traffic moving across the city’s stunning bridges and coastline!
• Various minor bug fixes and performance improvements.

The Night Lights Update - Patch

We're excited to share the latest update to Mini Motorways, which includes some quality of life improvements and bug fixes.
These include:
• Motorways will now be transparent when the game is paused, so you can better see your city.
• Scores of zero will no longer count against your attempts on Daily and Weekly Challenges.
• Several bugs have been fixed including the prominent visual bug that caused some headlights to appear pink, an issue where the Daily and Weekly Challenge scores would sometimes display incorrectly, and a few other assorted small issues.

The Night Lights Update

Fancy a challenge? Introducing an all-new game mode!

For those who want to kick it up a notch, Mini Motorways invites you to take a spin on a set of exciting handcrafted challenges - explore your favourite maps in a whole new way! Our new unlockable Challenge Mode applies new modifiers to each of our cities. Complete with freshly updated achievements and its own set of leaderboards, Challenge Mode has been designed with each map’s unique features and geography in mind.
Our leaderboards also have a fresh new look and improved security features!

In addition to the first new gameplay mode, this update to Mini Motorways also includes:
• Updates to our leaderboards! Our current leaderboards have been revamped to now include histograms, as well as improved security features. You can now see where your score ranks compared to all other players.
• Improvements to controller support. If you play with a controller, you’ll be prompted to replay the tutorial if you’d like to see the changes.
• New and improved colourblind options, including a colour picker that allows you to select preferred colours.
• The return of our Seasonal Holiday photo frames in Photo Mode!
• New achievements for Challenge Mode.
• Several bug fixes, including…
• Games freezing/locking at the End of Week screen. If you were seeing your screen grey out after selecting an upgrade, that should be resolved now.
• Issue where the game would sometimes render a black screen with loading icon.
• A handful of car stalling bugs.
• Improvements to various spawning issues such as boxed-in houses and notifications for disconnected buildings.

The Hometown Update
Take a trip to our hometown and build the streets of Aotearoa New Zealand’s capital city! This update to Mini Motorways includes:
• A brand new map to explore! You can now recreate our hometown of Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Aotearoa (Wellington, New Zealand) and try your hand at building an efficient road network in one of the world’s windiest cities.
• Autosaves! Your games will save automatically at the end of every week
• Several bug fixes! We’ve resolved several issues including stalling cars, crashes, and issues with some of the daily challenges.

The Round Trip Update - Patch
We’re excited to share with you the latest update to Mini Motorways, which includes:
• Important bug fixes for cars stalling, cars not slowing at three-way intersections, some scores not appearing on the leaderboards, issues with some Daily and Weekly challenges not working on certain maps and more.
• New audio features and a greater variety of audio controls.
• Smarter traffic lights behaviour - lights will only change when they need to and they will also check oncoming traffic more frequently.
• Added a new pop-up that will let you know when you have a saved game that you can resume.
• Support for the new AppleTV and Siri Remote and updated controller icons.

The Daily Detour Update
We’re excited to share with you our latest update to Mini Motorways, which includes:
• Two exciting new maps to dive into! From the bustling streets of Manila to vibrant festivals in Rio de Janeiro, you can now explore even more fabulous cities around the world from the safety of your homes.
• Daily and Weekly Challenges to challenge yourself by playing in interesting new ways, putting a new twist on familiar maps. You can now compete against others on a separate challenge leaderboard.
• Significant updates to traffic lights to solve congestion within your cities, and preventing the overlap of upgrades on an intersection.
• Updates to game balance across all maps.
• User profiles! Now you have the ability to create profiles so you and your family can choose how and where you play across shared devices.
• Improvements to UI scaling and you can now access your Game Center information from the main menu.

• Holiday frames in Photo Mode have been removed.
• Tutorial messages will no longer be clipped by the screen edge when in view mode.
• Tweaks to building spawns to reduce impossible connections.
• Cars no longer reserve roads while the game is paused. You can now add and remove roads, motorways, tunnels, and bridges in pause mode to your heart's content!
• Various minor tweaks to car behavior.
• The game will now respond quicker when a motorway is re-positioned provided the new motorway is capable of handling all pending incoming traffic.
• Fixed a bug that could accidentally hide your UI when pausing during the tutorial.
• You can now see how your high scores rank against the top players for each map again!
• Fixed a bug relating to traffic lights causing strange behavior when placed on the start and end of motorways and bridges.
