About Mr Thorne's Subtraction Galaxy
Subtraction Galaxy is the fourth maths app from Mr Thorne Productions, the team behind the Mr Thorne Does Phonics videos and apps which have had huge success on Youtube and the App Store around the world. This app is dedicated to all the strands of subtraction through key stage 1 and key stage 2, from ages 6 - 11.
Created by a UK school teacher, Mr Thorne's Subtraction Galaxy is educational and fun, suitable for the classroom and for the home. 39 mental maths tests based on subtraction and counting back, beginning with:
'ONE LESS' 'TEN LESS' 'NUMBER FACTS FROM 10 AND 100' 'SUBTRACTING MULTIPLES' 'FRACTIONS' 'TAKING AWAY DECIMALS' 'HALVING' 'NUMBER SEQUENCES'
'-9 AND -11' 'NEGATIVE NUMBERS' 'WORD PROBLEMS' and MUCH MORE!
Each world offers 3 difficulties of tests. Different difficulty settings mean you can be tested on easier numbers (BEGINNER), with more challenging numbers (FIRST CLASS) or be stretched further with WORLD CLASS mental maths subtractions such as '672-494'. A NEW feature of this app is the TIME ATTACK mode which allows players to complete the level in 60 seconds.
This app is suitable for children aged 5+ but also ideal for children revising for ages 7+ and 11+ examinations.
