About MSKeepItMoving

Nakikia A. Walton aka "MSKeepItMoving" is a native of Kinston, North Carolina now living in Durham with her husband Michael and their 3 children. After graduating from Kinston High School in 1994, she attended Winston-Salem State University earning a B. A. Degree in Radio & Television Broadcast. She worked for ABC 45 in Winston-Salem, NC & WB 22 in Raleigh, NC as a Technical Director for News shows. After working a number of years in the broadcast television industry, Nakikia realized her passion was in educating and advocating for individuals and families regarding healthcare and insurance literacy. She now has extensive education and experience in health insurance and health administrative services. Nakikia earned her Master's degree in Health Services Administration from Strayer University and her life and health licenses from the North Carolina Department of Insurance shortly after. She has worked for well-known companies such as PriceWaterHouseCoopers, Mamsi Health Plans, United Healthcare, Humana and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina.

Currently, Nakikia is employed full time by the Department of Veteran Affairs as a Certified Advanced Medical Program Support Assistant. She assists with coordinating health and wellness services for Veterans with Non VA providers in the community. She is the Founder and President of K.I.M. (Keep It Moving) 4U, Inc. with an organizational mission is to empower the community through awareness, education, advocacy and supportive services that aid in the understanding of mental health illnesses and other chronic diseases.
