About Muhasba
Muhasba is an App designed to improve and increase the performance of Salah; one of the five Pillars of Islam. Of all the many facets of Islam, the modern era has possibly impacted Salah the most.
Daily,Muhasba gives the user a visual incentive in the form of a percentage score and bonus points. To gain a higher score and to achieve more points, the user must perform more units of Salah.
Monthly, Muhasba allows the user the facility to easily track which days of any given month contain missed prayers. Days containing missed prayers are displayed as a red square. By selecting one of these dates, all the missed prayers for that day are displayed. Once these have been made up, the date is updated in the calendar.
Another unique feature of Muhasba addresses the problem of lifetime Qaza. By entering two dates in Settings, the user establishes their Qaza Range. All the prayers in this range appear as missed in the Qaza list. Once these prayers have been made up, the list is updated. For someone coming to prayer late in their life, this could be a very daunting task. Muhasba can help by allowing the user to change the Qaza Range at any time; for example the user could tackle their missed prayers on a yearly, monthly or even weekly basis.
Sayidina Umar ibn Al-Khattab (RA) said, ‘Bring yourself to account before you are taken to account.’ While we have the opportunity we should make every effort to address and act upon what is referred to here. Ultimately Allah (SWT) will decide if our worship is to be accepted. However, we must not stop making effort; may Allah (SWT) accept our effort.
