About Nostradamus (The Eyes of Nostradamus)

Michel de Nostredame (14 December or 21 December 1503[1] – 2 July 1566).

Nostradamus, was a French apothecary and reputed seer who published collections of prophecies that have since become famous worldwide.

He is best known for his book Les Propheties (The Prophecies), the first edition of which appeared in 1555. Since the publication of this book, which has rarely been out of print since his death, Nostradamus has attracted an enthusiastic following who, along with the popular press, credits him with predicting many major world events.

------------------------------------------------

In this application, his writings are presented in both the original Old French, and with the English translation. Keep in mind that sometimes the English translations lose some of the original meaning.

The original texts were broken into 1000, 4-line stanzas called "quatrains". These quatrains were grouped into 10 "centuries", each with 100 quatrains (except for the seventh century which only has 42 since the rest did not survive through the years).

------------------------------------------------

To use this app, you can click on "The Eyes of Nostradamus" button to see a random quatrain. You can also go to the main page and click on the particular century chapter to read. Using the "right" arrow, you can page through sequentially.
