The event will include a special focus on mining and extractive industries and regional development in Southeast Asia, as well as innovative partnerships between Indigenous communities and the mining and energy industries.
The meeting will be held between 20 and 22 November in Darwin, followed by an optional site visit to Nhulunbuy in East Arnhem Land on 23 and 24 November 2018. This site visit will focus on the success of transitioning Nhulunbuy’s regional economy from a single, mining-focussed economy to the establishment of broader interests alongside mining, including tourism and agriculture.
