About OK Video - Clips Camera

Hold-to-record video camera limited only by your creativity. No annoying ads, no hidden limits, does exactly what it says on the tin.

OK Video is unlimited, vine-style video recording with no editing needed: simply hold the screen to record each shot of your video. Easily create a vlog, a stop motion video or just capture whatever’s happening around you. After recording you can directly save it to your camera roll or share it via your favorite app. If you do need a little editing — like removing mistakes or reordering shots — the Timeline Editor is there to help (for a one-time in-app purchase)!

Your OK Videos are exported with a subtle watermark at the bottom. You can remove this watermark with a single in-app purchase found in the settings menu.

Have you ever felt the need to record a quick video while still working on another video? Well, today is your lucky day! Today we’re adding a big new feature to OK Video: Projects!

Tap the projects button in the top left corner and you’ll be taken to the brand-new ‘My Projects’ section. This is where you get an extra project to work on, for free! Have you ever tried making a time-lapse of a growing plant in your home? Or wanted to goof off with a quick video while also documenting your vacation in a longer video? I haven’t but that sure sounds like fun!

With a single in-app purchase you’ll unlock an additional four projects to work on. Kinda like save slots in those old school videogames, just pick any project!

This is a pretty big update. While I was working on the Projects feature I also found a whole slew of bugs and little things I had to fix. Here's a list, I know some people like to go through to these. Maybe your pet peeve is on here too and I’ve finally noticed!

- Added Projects feature: two free projects and a total of six available projects unlocked with an in-app purchase.
- Added an option to default your zoom to 0.5x, meaning that the ‘Reset Zoom’ button zooms out further for people who have an ultra wide lens.
- Fixed multiple issues with rotation. Now hopefully never recording upside down again. The app should always rotate to the orientation of your device when it can and will be forced in the right direction when needed.
- Fixed scaling issues when recording with low light boost on.
- Optimized parts of the app that made the experience slower than necessary.
- Found and fixed the problem with out-of-sync audio, leading to some videos refusing to export. This should not happen anymore.
- Improved timing when previewing your project starting at a specific clip in the Timeline Editor. (Hit the play button when a clip is selected in the editor)
- A lot of code is looking way nicer now. You might not see it, but trust me: you’ll feel it.

Also: thanks to Shilly for once again making a super tasty design, thanks to Rafa for making the app icons super bright and shiny, and thanks to Sarah and Ryan for helping me out with the copy!

That seems to be all! Really curious about what you think of this new feature and would love to hear your suggestions. Don’t hesitate to email me at hi@okvideo.app

Nothing big to report... yet! Some small under the hood changes:
- Increased app icon loudness by 150% (look at those colors POP!)
- Fixed some issues where some recordings might go haywire and misbehave
- More small stuff that nobody might ever notice, by I do! I care!

Stay tuned for bigger stuff in the coming weeks :)

Hi! How nice of you to stay up to date. You’re not going to regret this one, I promise.

Some small fixes this time around:
- Fixed an issue on notched devices where swiping up the app would unexpectedly cause it to start recording. That was annoying and I’m sorry
- No longer showing the watermark when previewing a single clip in the timeline editor, it had no business being there in the first place
- The icons in the Pro Tips now are much bigger. I like it better this way

In case you missed it -- and you might have because who reads this anyway -- OK Video got a huge new feature and a fresh new design! That new feature I like to call Timeline Editing and allows you to remove any clip in your composition, but also rearrange the clips to really mix it up. Just tap the timeline at the top of the screen or that scissors button next to it and get editing right away*! (*after a modest one-time purchase)
All the icons in the app got a brand new look (including the app icon, isn’t it cute?) and honestly, I couldn’t be happier. Michael Shillingburg really did a stellar job

OK thanks for reading this, don’t forget I love you and please take out the thrash the next time you're leaving the house and also please be safe and think of others.

bye

Big changes in this one, hope you’re ready for ‘em!

• Timeline Editor
Tap the timeline or the edit button in the top of the screen to bring up the Timeline Editor. Here you can delete individual clips and even rearrange your whole composition. Yes, you can finally remove accidental shots! Or insert an extra shot in the beginning, or make same-person dialogs easier, or, or... so much possibilities!

• New design
The whole app got a fresh coat of paint and all icons (including the App Icon!) have been redesigned. Ain’t they cute?

• Flash
There’s now a new option in the menu that allows you to turn on the flash while recording. Real handy when it’s too dark to OK Video. It also works with the front-facing camera, no idea how we pulled that off ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

• Pro Tips
When waiting for your video to export, you can now use this time to read up on some pro tips! For example, did you know that both the preview button and the OK button have a special function when you long-press them? There’s certainly some stuff you might not know already that’ll make your OK Video experience even better. If you didn’t have enough time to read these tips, you can always read all of them if you scroll down a bit in settings.

• Haptics
People with iOS 13 and up now get to feel every action (except during recording as that will mess with the recorded audio). Button presses and using the menu now got a whole lot more tactile.

Thank you for using OK Video! Please leave a review if you like this little app, it really helps. And make sure to tell all your friends!

Full boring list of changes:
- Added timeline editor with in-app purchase to rearrange and delete any clip
- Added flash mode, uses device’s flash during recording
- Now showing ‘pro tips’ during export and from settings
- Updated app icon, all fonts and button icons, and more subtle design changes
- Added haptics for buttons and menus on devices running iOS 13 and up
- Updated watermark, now showing logo and informative text
- Fixed issue where last clip sometimes introduces an echo
- When saving video, only permission to save is asked

Introducing: ‘Record in 1080p’, a new feature that’s enabled by default. With the last update 1080p recording already was introduced, but now you can disable It again.

Q: Why tho?
A: Disabling this feature allows you to record in a lower resolution to make the app perform better on slower devices and take up a little less space.

As always, please let us know if you have any thoughts:
• email: hi@okvideo.app
• instagram/twitter: @okvideoapp

Tidbits:
- Updated bitrates used for writing out video data
- Streamlines recording background threads, optimizing recording performance
- Fixed presets for recording, now optimized for recording in 1080p
- Added toggle to ‘Record in 1080p’, enabled by default. Disabling records in 720p. Exported video will also be 720p
- Updated the share text, now using #shotwithokvideo
- Thanked lovely people for reading all this <3

BIG UPDATE, OK VIDEO GOT A BIG UI REFRESH

Hey so we did the thing again! The whole interface got a refresh and now supports those taller screens a bit better.
Read on if you're at all interested, and as always: You can email us at hi@okvideo.app or instagram/tweet @okvideoapp if you have any ideas, suggestions or feedback.

Changes in version 6:
- 1080p export! Why didn't we do this from the start? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
- Moved all buttons down to the bottom. No more reaching up all the way to the top to flip the camera or delete the latest shot
- Cleaner look for the timeline, now floats to the left
- Now automatically uses microphone that's closest to the camera. Win: now subject that is being filmed is more audible. Trade-off: Narrating what you see takes a little more effort. Please let us know if this impacts your OK Video flow
- Maintained correct aspect ratio of camera preview in taller screens. The black background looks pretty nice on those X phones
- Added a dialog after exporting video that asks you if you want to clear your recordings or want to continue shooting
- 'Modifier' interface in bottom left. Shows when you're in 'ghost mode' and provides a single button to zoom back out when zoomed in.
- Status labels that appear now tell you whether you turned something on or off
- 'Export Clips' in settings now lets you share exported clips directly to anywhere, without first having you go through the camera roll. This feature is mainly used for helping us debug a problem or manually re-editing your composition.

Thank you for making OK Videos.

Hi kids! OK Video is even more OK now, read on if you’re at all interested. Or don’t.
Shoot us an email at hi@okvideoapp.com or tweet @okvideoapp if you have any ideas, suggestions or feedback.

Changes in 5.1:
- Undoing deletion now should actually work again, as expected
- Switching camera in landscape mode should not result in upside down faces anymore
- Buying the remove watermark In-App Purchase no longer fails, see for yourself!

Changes in version 5:
- Huge improvements to the timing for starting and stopping recording, s/o to Dom Hofmann lending us his experience.
- Added an option for video stabilization, found in the settings screen. Note that stabilization might not work in the front facing camera and in low light mode for most devices
- Improved the way your OK Videos are stored for a future feature

We’re already hard at work on the next version, and are pretty excited about what’s next for OK Video.
Thank you for making OK Videos.

Rebuilt recording system, lots of fixes and refinements. Read on if you're interested <3
If you have any questions, suggestions or just want to say hi: send us an email at hi@okvideoapp.com!

• iOS 11 now fully supported, but not sure what we had to change really
• Tap on the screen with an extra finger to focus on and set exposure for that area (thanks for the idea Ben!)
• Fixed inconsistencies with device rotation when opening the app with already recorded landscape videos
• Alert user when not enough disk space is available when starting a recording
• Remove unused old files that never got deleted, sorry about taking all that precious space!
• Crossfade the audio between individual clips in the composition to eliminate sudden audio transitions which were leading to unwanted clicks and pops. This was a pretty big change and required a complete revisit of the current recoding logic. Recording should now be way faster and more reliable (please let us know if you think otherwise.)
• Zooming in and out (or out and in) without lifting the finger should now allow for an uninterrupted zooming experience. Previously the zooming would halt for a little while going back over the starting zoom position. Got it?
• Clearer progress indicator when exporting video, makes it feel way snappier
• Updated for Swift the 4th, hopefully you won't notice

Thanks for reading all this. Now go forth and make OK Videos!

• Low Light Mode: a much needed moon icon will appear in low light conditions
• Quick Preview: long-press the preview button to only check the last two recordings
• Shake to Undo: for when you've accidentally removed one or all recordings
• A bunch more welcome tweaks and improvements. Like that nifty new fan menu animation.

Thank you for letting OK Video in your life. Do you like this app? Leave a kind review!
