About Overcoming Fear Yoga Activity

Video/Info for: Overcome Fear

Nearly every activity we do in life has some unwanted risk associated with it. There are some risks that are so high that it makes logical sense to avoid these activities. For example if one runs into a busy street without looking for traffic there is a high chance of being hurt badly. So, if one does not run into a busy street without looking, it is sensible choice. However there are many fear-driven choices that have no rational basis. Fear of flying, fear of escalators or lifts, fear of falling through grates on a street, fear of spiders, fear of crawling creatures, etc., are based on irrational fears.

In this app we have collected a series of breathing sequences that are based on both breathing while still and breathing with body movements focusing on opening the chest and throat. In addition some of the sequences require projection of arm and shoulder strength. The affirmations and visualizations one takes while doing the breathing sequences are very important as they bring the mind to a state of confidence and openness.

It is important to note that irrational fear is a mind state but since mind and body are interconnected it also impacts our body posture. Fear naturally creates closed body posture. So, in our breathing sequences, we encourage a strong physical posture as well as an affirmation and a visualization that creates a strong and confident mind state.

All of the breathing sequences are presented in the Learning Studio along with detailed instructions. The user will find them easy to master.

In the customization space of the app one can create a Video Playlist from the videos from the Learning Studio. These playlists can be used to guide yourself through a sequence at times set by you using the reminders feature in the customization area.

In this app we also have the Breath Timing Playlist feature where the user can do the following while using a breath sequence chosen and memorized from the Learning Studio:

1. customize breath time and breath phase (i.e. inhale time, pause after inhale, exhale time and pause after exhale);

2. add visualization by choosing and animation while breathing and this animation expands and contracts helping the user keep pace with the chosen breath, and

3. choose an affirmation that uplifts one’s mind state.

One you have learned the breathing sequences from the Learning Studio you can do them with different breath timing phases using the Breath Timing feature that is placed in the Customization space. You can consider doing long sequences of up to five minutes of strong breathing sequences.

Playlists can be made from sequences that you like and these can be ready for you to use in the Practice Studio.
