New Download System
• Introduced automatic download options. New/amended data can be automatically downloaded on app startup, overnight, or both
• Choose data 'Groups' to download e.g. Australia now has a VFR group and an IFR group
• Status badge (green tick) on Settings button indicates download status (up-to-date, downloading, or error). Also indicates if a subscription is about to expire and should be renewed before flying
• Old files are now automatically deleted to save on storage space
• New Storage bar gives a quick indication of storage space remaining

User Waypoint Improvements

OzRunways v8 is a major release with stacks of new features and improvements.

** New Features **

- New Quick Planner: Live search waypoints, air route suggestions, lat/lon and radial-range searches and MGRS/UTM/NZTM support.
- New Saved Plans list: Advanced sort, Delete/share/export and 'More' actions to copy to clipboard.
- New Flight Plan screen: Lists waypoints, shows live statistics. No more 'Go Fly' - OzRunways is always ready to fly!
- Flight plans now have either a "Direct To" or "Activate Leg" similar to panel mount GPS units.
- New Closest Points menu: Tapping on the map brings up a rich contextual menu with flattened information, inbuilt webcams and airport diagrams. Direct-To and Add to plan can be tapped directly.
- New POI search: including live street address search, Lat/Lon, MGRS, UTM and NZTM coordinate support.
- Drawing on Airfield Charts: requires iOS12+ and allows use of pencil or highlighter. Drawings are saved to disk and persist until the document is refresh in a subsequent amendment. Apple Pencil is supported.
- Full screen Satellite maps (uses Apple maps) available in map selection list.

** General Improvements **

- Offline weather support in chart viewer (uses SmartBrief database).
- Plan Spreadsheet altitude keypad remembers last used fill-down setting.
- Settings > Information displays latest software version of app with link to App Store to upgrade (if required).
- Replay flight ability in Settings > Logs > Flight Log > Replay this flight
- Range rings can do 1 decimal accuracy
- Allow aircraft to be deleted even if used in a plan.
- Full flight plan sheet functionality on iPhone.
- Scratchpad now has better palm detection to prevent spurious dots from appearing.
- Map Cursor now shows more coordinate systems (UTM, MGRS bands) by tapping on the coordinate box.
- Tapping on enlarged traffic makes it instantly small.
