About parkken

parkken is a one-of-a-kind Map and App that translates and simplifies into simple graphics or plain English the Manhattan parking rules for any time and place you request. Simply fill in the “CAN I PARK HERE?" Query dialog and the parkken App scans the majority parking rules for the block at the hour and address selected by you. It displays a Parking Gauge graphic that shows a quick Yes, No, or Soon picture of legal parking availability.

The Area Gauges show multiple Parking Gauge readouts for surrounding blocks.

This new version's (3.10.87) CAN I PARK HERE?, Parking Gauge, and Text queries as well as Area Gauges have been updated to interpret restored parking rules after Covid. The signs on the block are once again the rule..

The Base Map and its Clock Symbols will continue to interpret non-commercial parking rules for an overall view.

The app also includes locations for pay garages and lots, as needed. A pilot program for garage savings coupons is underway.

The App has a GPS button that will orient the map to your location and a Favorites function for storing Quick Links to your favorite neighborhoods.

An Alternate Side Suspension Days Calendar page shows you days you don't have to move your car for street sweeping.

Parking Gauge rotated: to see parking rules, the Left half of the Parking Gauge scans the Left side of the street and the the Right half of the Gauge scans the Right side of the Street.

This version launches the Parking Gauge, a quick scan, 12-hour graphic, of street parking rules on any block. The usual, more detailed text description of parking rules is still available at the touch of the screen.
This version also launches the Area Gauges. Area Gauges show Parking Gauges for any Area queried. This can help direct you to the next best place to look for parking.
The Garage Locator is also updated more regularly and, future savings offers, may become available.
