Now PeakVisor knows even more peaks. We have spent a lot of time researching mountainous regions from Alaska to Georgia (the Caucasus). But maybe even more important that this version is much more efficient when it goes to automatic compass adjustment. It is crucial in winter conditions when the hardware is less precise due to lower temperatures and strong winds. PeakVisor Computer Vision (let's say Mountain Vision!) does the job and you should quickly forget about adjusting panorama by sliding it!

Spectacular 3D Maps and Peaks Identification are essentials for any outdoor adventure.
In this version we improved 3D maps and got them ready for the peaks database update. There will be more mountains in the app soon. We dug into very old paper maps to find forgotten peaks all over the world. They are on the way.
Also, we improved automatic compass adjustment. It is more accurate and precise now. Hopefully, you’ll forget the need for compass calibration in the nearest future!

Spectacular (and very efficient) 3D maps for any adventure. Be that climbing in the Rockies, trekking in the Himalayas, or hiking in the Alps.
We heard that many of you enjoy the gorgeous iOS 13 Dark Mode, so in this release we improved how the app looks and feels under these settings. It should be especially neat to plan the next day push in front of a fireplace. Dark colors of the app better fit evening environment and also save some battery time. Please have a look and let us know what you think! We love to talk with you.
Huge mountains look better on a huge screen! We improved the aesthetics of PeakVisor on iPad. So, if you are one of the happy iPad owners and enjoy our 3D maps and Mountains Identification on a bigger screen then you should notice the difference.
Finally, we fixed a couple of pesky bugs and crashes. Not that they were frequent but nevertheless. We strive for the perfect experience and polish the app all the time.

Offline route planning just became a lot smarter. In addition to integrating distance and elevation profile, we added trail difficulty grade into the equation.
Recently, we got feedback that estimates were slightly (or, in some cases, not so slightly) off for some of our users when estimating hike times. We are currently implementing the latest technologies in route estimation to address the issue. There are many advanced formulas and tricks to provide better estimates for hike times and we are working hard every day to learn more, but at the end of the day, it all depends on weather conditions and personal skill. Let's face it, some of us tackle difficult hiking conditions much better than others. In this version, we’ve taken the first step towards more precise predictions for accurate route time calculation and there will be many more advancements coming soon. Meanwhile, we greatly appreciate your feedback, especially regarding whether or not the estimates have been helpful for you.
As a small reminder, features such as advanced route planning, are available in the free version as well as the paid version of PeakVisor. It is time to learn new moves! Did you know that you can double tap on the compass to open amazing 3D maps and explore the area with a bird’s-eye view. We’ve added a small reminder to the compass to let you know about this wonderful feature. So, why not teleporting to a wonderful mountain and flying over the mountains with PeakVisor 3D maps?

Now, in winter 2019 when most of you are skiing we bring the ***Winter Mode*** into the app. Worldwide ski runs and mountain lifts are available to all PeakVisor users in Augmented Reality and 3D maps. With winter settling in the northern hemisphere PeakVisor Winter Mode is just around the corner. It is almost like a race between 2019 and the winter mode. What comes first?! But in this release we brought a lot of other important improvements:
* 3D maps got state of the art controls. Navigating in the 3D world of mountains is even more joyful now. This world is mesmerizing, especially when you plan your next adventure.
* Freezing cold reminded us to improve glaciers rendering. They are getting real!

* We have been very good girls and boys this year, so Santa brought us new iPhones Xs Max and asked us to better adapt PeakVisor to the new line of devices. The app should work much better on these powerful phones.
