Smart Folders, PDF Scanning, Image Scanning and more!
Buckle in, this is a big one!
# Smart Folders
Create Folders which fill themselves based on your criteria. Desserts that aren’t drinks that are also rated at least 4 stars? Easy! The sky is the limit with this and I can’t wait to see how you use it!
# Image Scanning
In addition to Pestle’s existing scanner, Pestle can now scan images from your Camera Roll as well! Importing is a breeze, and you can save your recipe cards to Pestle in no time!
# PDF Importing
Got cookbooks sitting around as PDFs? Well now Pestle can import those too! Tap the ‘+’ in your Cookbook and begin highlighting your favourites straight out of the book.
# Search Improvements
Ever searched for a recipe and wondered why something matched? Now in the top right of all search results, you'll get a helpful label like "Main Course" or "Matches Ingredient".
# Spotlight
Lastly, just a little treat. Pestle will now show Recipe previews in Spotlight search, just for a bit of visual flair.
# Bug Fixes
- The Meal Plan widget works again
- Calendar Sync works better
- Fixed instruction labels being truncated at one line.

No worries, they'll both show up even without expanding the Dynamic Island. Got another activity going? Pestle will show the soonest to complete timer in a minimal view alongside sports scores, food deliveries, or whatever else you've got going on.
But fear not iPhone 13 and below users, there's goodies here for you too! With Live Activities, you'll be able to keep an eye on your timers from your Lock Screen, too!

More ways to Cook, More ways to Look!
Introducing Minicook
While viewing a recipe, tap the ellipsis button in the top right and choose “Start Minicook”. This will allow you check off items from the ingredients list without having to use Pestle’s guided cooking experience.
Grid View
Got a lot of recipes and want to see more at once? Tap the filter button at the end of the search bar and switch to Grid View to double the recipes onscreen (or triple, or quadruple!).
And that’s not all!
There’s a couple bug fixes here to enjoy as well :)

Saving recipes is integral to Pestle, and editing them is just as importing! So in this update, Recipe Editing is getting better!
- Support for customising the Author. Made enough tweaks to a recipe that it's practically your own? Put your own name on it!
- Edit Videos: Want to add a link to a tutorial for a recipe, now you can!
Fixed:
- Predictive text wouldn't work correctly when editing a recipe.

Recipe Management is getting better with Pestle 1.1.4!
SharePlay Improvements:
Cooking with people around the world is getting some great updates! Now timers started, restarted and cancelled during FaceTime calls with sync across all participants devices.
Recipe Management Improvements:
- I've removed the 'Step Manager' in the Field Editor in favour of adding all the features to the main section.
- Copy and pasting steps from websites into Pestle will now automatically create new ingredients for every new line.
- Drag & Drop Ingredients & Steps in Pestle from websites.
Bug Fixes:
Imported recipes could be missing their source. Recipe affected by this will need to be imported.
Rotating your device could make Pestle crash on some devices, sorry about that one!
