Educational additions: videos and blogs, a great new recommended pro/coach: Alec Torelli (ConsciousPoker.com), and a Coaches & Pros webpage … to help you use PokerCruncher more effectively and improve your game.

1) Links to videos and blogs on PokerCruncher (by pros/coaches) directly inside the app:

Menu --> Help … --> Featured Videos & Blogs --> …

For example the “The Best Way to Study Poker” video and blog by Alec Torelli are must sees in our opinion. Also see our website’s (improved) Tutorials & Videos page.

2) A great new recommended poker pro/coach:

Alec Torelli (ConsciousPoker.com)

Alec uses PokerCruncher in his work/analysis and has created some excellent videos and teaching material (e.g. the “The Best Way to Study Poker” video and blog mentioned above). If you want to learn how to use PokerCruncher effectively, how to read hands and ranges better, and improve your overall game, we recommend checking out Alec's videos/teaching-material/coaching. We ourselves (including me RJ) have learned a lot from Alec's videos and teaching material e.g. his funnel system for reading hands and ranges. Do check him out!

3) A separate Coaches & Pros page on our website, and a link to this page inside the app:

Menu --> Help … --> Coaches & Pros

We’re very happy that some really good pros/coaches like these guys are using PokerCruncher and have created some great teaching material. Do check them out, including our newest addition Alec Torelli.

A big user interface upgrade for iPhone X-series models … at last :).
1) All screens and views are taller and wider, and have an improved layout.
2) The screens show more info., e.g. the main screen always shows the Stats view (so no need to open/close it).
3) Everything is sharper/higher-res, including the card and suit icons.

Also, some small UI improvements for all iPhone models, e.g. a few minor wording improvements in the menus and dialogs.

11.6.2 2018-12-18
An edge case “Calc” button bug fix:
* If you did repeated calc’s fast, starting the next calc immediately after the current calc ends, you could have sometimes gotten a crash. You had to be really stress-testing the app to get this; wouldn’t have happened in normal usage. In any case this has been fixed.

Also (in V.11.6.1):
* Double the default number of Monte Carlo simulation trials, to a cool 1 million trials.
* Minor wording improvements in the UI e.g. uppercase/lowercase changes.
* Add the app’s name in small print at the top of the main screen.

2) Minor wording improvements in the UI e.g. uppercase/lowercase changes.

3) Add the app’s name in small print at the top of the main screen.

Videos on how to use PokerCruncher, and a bug fix for iOS 7 and older devices.

1) Videos

* Two poker coaches have each made good videos on how to use PokerCruncher (thanks guys!). Links to the videos are on our website. Also, the app’s Menu -> “Tutorial & Videos” button takes you to the PokerCruncher Tutorial and videos. These videos use the Mac-Expert version of PokerCruncher, but they should also be helpful for this Basic version.

* We’ve made a short 30-second app preview video of the iPhone-Advanced version of PokerCruncher. This video is on our website, and should also be helpful for this Basic version.

2) Bug fix - Hopefully fix an app shutdown/crash bug on iOS 7 and older devices (e.g. iPhone 4S) that (only) two customers reported on the iPhone-Advanced version of PokerCruncher. The app was shutting down a few seconds after a calculation finished. This wasn’t being seen on iOS 8 or later.

We would especially like to get more reviews on our 4-app advanced odds apps bundle, thank you.

8.1.2 2015-06-11
A small bug fix and cleanup update.

1) A deal-random-cards bug fix: When dealing random cards to only the selected player (using long-tap on the player), the player’s existing cards sometimes weren’t being returned to the card deck correctly. This bug is now fixed (was introduced in the previous update V.8.1.1).

2) Don’t use unnecessary abbreviations in the UI, e.g. write “Players” not “Plyrs” in the Reset menu.

App Store reviews help PokerCruncher get even better, and are greatly appreciated, thank you!
8.1.1 2015-02-17
Big user interface improvements, and a small new feature.

1) New, modern UI theme across entire app.

2) Cleaner and more modern app icon.

3) Ability to deal random cards to just one specific player. Long-tap one of the player’s card fields to bring up the player’s shortcut menu, then tap the “Deal Random Cards” button.

4) This app now requires iOS 7 or later.

Further details below.

3) UI Improvements
====================

a) Main Screen:
* Move Calculate button to the right side of the screen (more logical placement, gives faster app usage).
* Improved indication of the selected card/player:
- Show a border rectangle around the selected card (instead of dimming the card).
- Highlight the selected player’s number.
* Show dead cards (as text) in the status text area at the bottom of the screen (on 4” screens).
* Show calculation progress bar only while a calculation is running, not when it’s finished or stopped.
* Align players’ Win and Tie values better.

b) Stats View:

* Write “0%” instead of “0.00%” for stats that have a value of exactly 0%.

d) General:
* Change some small-X-circle buttons to Done buttons.
* Move Done or Cancel button to the right side of the screen if it’s the only button in the screen.
* Improve some alerts’ button names, button left/right placement, and wording.
* Improve main help screen, e.g., add a section on shortcuts (e.g., long-tap).
* Update the Tutorial: shortcuts.
7.1.2 2014-05-03
This update is just a re-build/re-install to ensure the app launches and runs smoothly on iOS 7.1 for everyone; no actual changes to the app.
7.1.1 2014-03-18
Maintenance update: small improvements and fixes, nothing major. Details below.

One notable change is that this app is now named the “Basic” version of PokerCruncher (instead of “Lite”).

If you like PokerCruncher please consider rating/reviewing it (or updating your rating to this new version). Thanks for your support.

Details:

* Rename the app to “PokerCruncher - Basic” (was “PokerCruncher - Lite”).

* Clarify the “Import Scenario” feature’s instructions: the text that you’re importing must be in PokerCruncher scenario text format.

* Fix appearance of popup menus and submenus on 3.5” screens on iOS 7 (or if you’re running this iPhone version on an iPad on iOS 7). This was OK on 4” screens, and on iOS 6 or earlier.

* This app now requires iOS 6.1 or later.
6.4.2 2013-12-15
Summary:
* Improvements and simplifications to Stats view's UI, e.g. tap/select the player whose stats you want to see.
* Support in-phone-call mode (fully for iPhone5 or later, partially for pre-iPhone5).
* Add new-size app icons for iOS 7.
* Small improvements to Help info.
* Small adjustments to the "Rate This App" menu button and prompt.

If you like PokerCruncher please help us, rate/review this app, thank you!

Details:

1) Improvements and simplifications to Stats view's UI:
* New way to select the player whose stats you want to see: tap the player's card/range field. Or tap a board card to see the winning hand's stats. The Player left-arrow and right-arrow buttons have been removed.
* Small changes to names/abbreviations of some stats.

2) Support in-phone-call mode:
* When you press the Home button while in a phone call, you're returned to the Home screen with the phone call still alive, and the status bar turns green and becomes taller to indicate in-phone-call mode (if your carrier supports this feature). You can then run the PokerCruncher app while you're in the phone call.
* On a 4" screen (iPhone5 or later), the UI now adjusts itself vertically so all screens are completely visible and use-able with the taller status bar.
* On a 3.5" screen (pre-iPhone5), all screens shift down and are mostly use-able, but some elements at the bottom of the screens are cut off.
6.3.1 2013-09-11
Some small UI improvements to make sure the UI is clean going forward:
* New icons for AddPlayer and RemovePlayer toolbar buttons.
* Improve toolbar buttons' size and spacing.
* Change size of calc progress bar and num trials text.
