About Postbox Finder
Postbox Finder UK helps you locate nearby postboxes and post offices in the UK using the GPS built into your phone. The coverage is extensive although there are postboxes that are not currently included in the app. If you do find missing postboxes, then please help by registering at https://openstreetmap.org and creating or updating incorrect information. Once the update is confirmed at OpenStreetMap, you will be able to use the refresh button in the app to download the updates.
We are now using OpenStreetMap at the data source for the postbox and post office location information, “© OpenStreetMap contributors”. The data is available under the Open Database Licence.

There is a whole new interface to the app that allows you to request data updates from OpenStreetMap within 16km of the centre of the map, you can now use toggles in the top menu to allow you to filter to only see postboxes, post offices or both. There is new clustering functionality in the map interface so that you can better see the information on the map, and a new circular radius overlay that helps you see clearly the area that you are currently viewing postbox data within, since we cannot place all 400,000+ data items on the map at once.

Fixing an issue where the latest postbox data that the app downloads periodically wasn't used correctly. This issue stopped you seeing the most up to date information.

• The app has been built from the ground up to support the newest Apple iOS version and the latest hardware.

Added integration into the postoffice mobile website so that you can get the details of branch opening times using their branch finder tool.
Click on a pushpin and click the arrow to go to the postoffice website pre-populating the form with the postcode from the pin (where available).
The postoffice mobile website includes the following tools:
- Branch Finder (which gives branch opening times)
- Address / Postcode Finder
- Currency Converter

Major update. The application now has a loader progress bar when you first install the application so that it doesn't look like it's hung the first time (because it takes a while to initialise the database with the 44,000+ postbox locations).
Also you can now manage retrieving postbox location updates yourself by going to the settings screen and clicking on the "update postbox data" button. This takes you to a screen where you can download the latest data file (approximately 3.81 mb) and then choose to reload the database from the downloaded file when it's convenient.

- Device type (iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod Touch)
