About Power Up! 2018 Youth Symposium

PowerUp! A symposium for Black/African Canadian youth in care, is the first gathering of its kind, organized with the expressed interest of engaging and empowering youth of African descent in Ontario’s child welfare system.

Inspired by the voices and advocacy of the African Canadian community (including youth), the Symposium is designed to celebrate and motivate Black/African Canadian youth in the child welfare system to be active participants in their everyday lives.

The event is targeted for youth between the ages of 15-21 years of age, and will be a mix of inspiring stories, connections and activities for Black/African Canadian youth in care.
