We’re back! New app version 2.3.0 is bringing you some exciting new features:
1) Take photos with your Profoto B10 or B10 Plus, using real Xenon flash tube
For the first time in history, Profoto is giving iPhone photographers the power to create photos with B10 or B10 Plus in the same way as with DSLR or mirrorless cameras - using the real Xenon flash tube.
You will be able to manually control B10 flash power and all the iPhone's camera settings, such as Shutter Time, ISO, White Balance, and more! Your B10 or B10 Plus will also automatically switch to High-Speed Sync mode when needed.
To use this new functionality, your B10 or B10 Plus needs to be upgraded to the newest Firmware, version “B1”. This Firmware will be available directly within the app, and also on Profoto website.
2) Other features such as new onboarding, and lots of bug fixes and performance improvements.

Dear light shapers,
We listened and we’re bringing you a couple of new functionalities:
1) Focus lock
You can now lock the focus if you press and hold on focus circle.
2) Exposure compensation
When in Auto exposure menu, you can now easily set if you prefer your photos brighter or darker.
3) Manual shutter time and manual ISO
When in Manual exposure menu, you can now have more precise control and freedom of expression - because you can't automate creativity.
4) Disable/enable real exposure preview
When you are taking photos in Manual mode and your preview becomes "too dark", you can now use “Viewfinder” function. This way you can still compose your photo and focus.
5) Disable/enable preserving capture settings
Now you can choose if you want app to remember camera and flash related settings between each launch.
6) Improved focus and colors in certain conditions
We’re switching to a new exposure preview rendering method, which will improve focus and color quality when you apply exposure compensation or work in Manual mode.
7) And 10+ other bug fixes and improvements for auto exposure sequence, speed, and reliability of the app.

1. TTL (Auto exposure) process is less annoying and faster
- Less pre-flashes = only 1 or 2 in most situations.
- Significantly faster.
2. Color of the photos is now much better
- Both Color Temperature and White Balance functions have Auto and Manual mode now. And this is clearly visible with new indicators in the app interface.
3. “Last used settings” are now saved
- If you close and reopen the app, your last settings will be still there.

- Auto WB algorithm improvements (further improvements are on the way).
- Exposure settings don’t reset anymore when you switch from “Auto” to “Manual” and back.
- The app will notify you when the new FW version is available for your Profoto device (and will stay visible until you do it).
- Some “under the hood” improvements, which will help us improve auto exposure and reduce the number of pre-flashes.
- Your Profoto devices are now registered in the better way: you won’t be prompted for new registration in case if you reinstall the app or switch to a new phone.

Dear light shapers,
with 35 new fixes and improvements, this update is bringing the biggest step since C1 / C1 Plus launch.
The most important part of this update are auto exposure improvements. Overall, the app now performs more consistently, and produces more natural look in many situations (including most challenging lightning conditions).
To list just a few improvements:
Image quality
- fixed: overexposed selfies and front camera photos in low and bright light
- no longer "half-exposed" or "dark" image bugs
- improved: lower noise (especially in darker situations)
