In this update, we are shipping one major new feature called Practice Mode, along with some minor updates and bug fixes.
Introducing “Practice Mode”
Need a refresher on how to use PunchAlert during an emergency? We have now introduced “Practice Mode” so you can practice using the application without actually reporting any real emergencies or communicating with anyone. It’s your own little personal emergency practice sandbox. Here’s how it works:
1. Go to your left navigation
2. Select Practice Mode
3. Press “Proceed” to start 60 seconds of Practice Mode
4. It will start on the countdown page as if you had just hit the big red button
5. Choose a sample Organisation from the dropdown at the top
6. Choose an Emergency Category
7. Then Report Now or wait for the 30 second countdown.
8. Practice submitting Text, Audio, Photos, Video, or Attendance
9. Navigate the map at the top right to see where the (fake) emergency is located.
10. Submit your Status.
11. Hit back button to end Practice Mode or it will end automatically after 60 seconds.
Remember that the Orange border colour means you are in Practice Mode so not actually reporting something real or communicating with anyone.
We’d highly encourage you to remind others in your organisation to Practice using this feature so they are prepared for emergency. If you have any thoughts or feedback, please let us know!

WOW, what a year! With all of the craziness in the world, we have been hunkered down trying to stay safe and healthy. In order to help as many as we can, we thought we would provide a tool to help with the safe return to offices and campuses. This build introduces SENTRY, a simple survey tool for Safe Entry back to the workplace.

Another week in lockdown, another point release as we march ever closer to the highly anticipated and legendary 5.5 release. The good news is that we have had an abundance of time to really focus on enhancements and features while building out 5.5 and some of them are so good, we just can't wait, so we are trickling out point releases. In this particular release, we have better aligned the announcement section with the admin console in both features and functionality. Enjoy!

Well, being on lockdown at home, physically isolated from everyone has given us time to pause and run down some bugs while on our way to 5.5. This is a minor release that extends our sign-up functionality that allows users to join public lists when they follow organisations. Again, we hope everyone is staying safe, healthy and away from each other.

I promise, work on 5.5 is really being done, There just some big changes that take time - there is also the matter of a GLOBAL PANDEMIC that is slowing things down. This release concerns a few bugs, annoyances really. In all seriousness, stay safe, stay healthy and above all, stay away from each other.

Update [verb uhp-deyt, uhp-deyt; noun uhp-deyt]
My goodness, here we are with another update. The work on 5.5 is almost mythic at this point, if not for the amount of work going into it. This update, however, was very necessary. This update is all about single sign on (SSO) via Okta. That's really it. We should have one more update prior to the 5.5 release in the next couple of weeks.

* We optimised location monitoring to be more accurate and battery efficient

Well, we didn't quite make it to 5.5 without a minor point release, but there were a few bugs that were super annoying and had to be addressed quickly. I'll make this short, here are the fixes:
• Announcement detail page: When opening an announcement push notification, it navigated to the activity stream, but it wasn't always clear which announcement you were looking at. Now its crystal clear.
• Changing the profile phone number: It was confusing, now it’s not.
• Conference line parsing: building and parsing a clickable conference line string is not as easy as it sounds, but now it works - mostly, except for those weird conference server use cases.
5.4.5
2019-06-25
It's only been a few weeks since our last update, but this one has some very important
updates. To be honest, most of them are mechanical. There area few new
things available though that we think everyone will like:
-Emoji Support
Goodness, this has been requested for a while and finally,
our curmudgeon of a dev manager conceded and added it :)
-Public Lists
Our definition of Lists is really expanding. I know, Lists
shouldn't be capitalized, and they are boring, right? Wrong. We are going to be
expanding our use of Lists and making them dynamic objects to be used
throughout the platform, so stay tuned. The first phase of this strategy is to
introduce Public Lists that customers can setup so any public user can join
them and receive content from the customer. This should be handy for
customers that want to add existing distribution lists of patrons, etc. that aren't
necessarily app subscribers. Ok, I am rambling at this point, so contact us if
you want to learn more.
-The Big Red Button
It's back. Some of us are *excited* that it has returned,
and we think you will be too. Upon app launch, it is presented and can be
closed. To re-open it, a swipe from the bottom of the screen should do it. We
even have a cool new name for the Big Red Button presentation - we are
calling it 'LaunchPad.'
-IPAWS Notifications
In the last release, we introduced our partnership and
integration with FEMA/DHS IPAWS (Integrated Public Alert and Warning
System). In this release, we are expanding its use to include local notification on
the device.
That’s it for this release. The next release will be a major one; in fact, so major I am
starting to write the "What's New" section now even though it's still some time out
(not really, but I have to say that to give myself a buffer in case our dev schedule
goes sideways).

Thanks for using PunchAlert. We've been very busy building some very useful features that we think everyone will find, well, useful. During an emergency, its nice to know everyone's status; we've added that. Any user that is checked in will be able to let responders know if they are ok. We recently added Announcement Drafts, but the process was largely incomplete in that the draft couldn't be edited. So we re-vamped the process and made it nice, new and shiny. We also changed the name of 'Pre-defined Messages' to 'Templates,' which sounds better, is easier to reference and makes more sense. So now, when crafting an announcement, you can use a template that has been previously built. Last, but certainly not least, we are a certified FEMA IPAWS (Integrated Public Alert and Warning System) partner and will be including important weather, amber and other alerts as posted by different authorities.

Thanks for using PunchAlert.
We are here with the long awaited feature launch Pad - A much faster and improved way of reporting emergency.
We've improved the way of creating announcement as well by including announcement draft, edit announcement and more.
