Watch integration has been updated so that you are now more in control of the dependence of the watch panic button on your phone being around. Even when your phone is linked to your watch you can set the watch to ignore the dependence, this sets the watch to independent mode for the panic button, your account is still linked however the panic comes from the watch instead and won't use the phone's location unless you panic from the phone itself. You are required to log into the app with the watch linked in order to use this functionality.
