About Relax Away AR
This app was designed to give everyone a safe place to escape to for a short while. Safe visuals, interesting characters and coded music all combine to help you, or your child, relax quickly.
To play this app is easy, simply select an environment and enjoy.
This Augmented Reality “Relax AR” app was created based on the suggestions of SCSU Spec Ed student teachers, SCSU Spec Ed faculty and District 742 Special Ed school teachers. All these educators noted that children, especially with special needs, often get overwhelmed and need some quiet time to relax and process the situation or problem they are facing. Safe visuals, interesting characters and coded music all combine to help everyone relax quickly.
Research has shown that recent advances in Augmented Reality (AR) technology have several advantages that can prove very useful to educators and parents. Most notably, AR apps tend to grab user attention faster, maintain user attention better, and offer more user feedback than previous methods available in mobile app development.
PLEASE NOTE that this app uses Augmented Reality, ARKIT, and therefore requires: a mobile Apple device (iPhone 6S or newer) and iOS 12 (or newer).
