About Retrollect - Video Game Collection Manager

Do you love SEGA's games so much that their sad demise as a hardware manufacturer just makes you break down in uncontrollable floods of tears and beat your fists on a desk, sobbing for what once was? Does the smug face of that awful shell-popping plumber and his gangly brother just rip your heart out and devour it whole?

Do you sate that internal turmoil by picking up every damned SEGA game you can from eBay, and piling them high on shelves, to hoard, stare defiantly at, rifle through, and keep forever more? Will you pass them on to your children whether they want them or not?

You're not alone, friend. With Retrollect, you can browse Every. Single. Game. ever released in Europe and the USA for all of SEGA's systems, the Master System, Mega Drive, Game Gear, Mega CD, Mega Drive 32X, Saturn, and Dreamcast, tick off those you've managed to snag a copy of, and quickly scour eBay for those you're still hunting down. The app will also automatically find YouTube videos of any game you'd like, so if you've never played it, you can watch a spotty American teenager do just that! You can even email your friends and relatives with lists of games you're missing in the vain hope that they'll scour eBay FOR you! We also feature NON-SEGA consoles if you're weird.

Super quick, super easy, super free. Super Nintendo? Wait, no, we're talking SEGA here! CURSE YOU, RED JUMPING MOUSTACHE!

Now, get collecting! ^_^

What's New in the Latest Version 2.0

Last updated on Oct 10, 2016
Old Versions
Wow, where do I start? Everything's new! Let's start at the beginning:

* FREAKIN' NINTENDO!
Retrollect now includes complete lists for Nintendo consoles (the SNES, NES, and N64, in both PAL and NTSC territories, with more to come), and a couple of rare oddities for fun (the Panasonic 3DO and the Commodore Amiga CD-32).

* Spotlight integration!
Hanging out at the retro game fair or a car boot sale, and want to quickly know whether you really DO have that copy of Power Strike II for the Game Gear? If you've marked it in Retrollect, simply searching for its name in Spotlight will now neatly show up whether you own that game. Handy, right?

* Boxes and manuals!
Want to keep track of whether your collection is boxed, and whether you have manuals for your ultra-rare titles? Retrollect now features stylish blue switches to track JUST THAT. They'll even show up in the Spotlight search. Handier than handy, right?

* Hidden consoles!
Sick of hearing about SEGA? Not nuts about Nintendo? Confused by Commodore? Perturbed about Panasonic? HIDE 'EM! You can now long-press on a console in the list to hide it. If you're not collecting, you're not collecting.

* Side-swipey INDEXES OF AWESOME!
Those neat little A-Z thingies on the side of the game lists are BACK, because I bothered to figure out how to re-implement them with a Realm data layer. They're handy as all get out.

* 3D Touch CHARTS!
3D Touch the icon on your home screen once you've done some collecting. I DARE you. Yeah, that's right, you now get super-quick info on your collection, including nifty little pie charts to show the completeness of your collection. WOO!

There's even more amazing stuff coming soon, too! ^_^

Happy new year, collectors! I added some funky behind-the-scenes stuff for an upcoming release to make your game-hunting experience even better. Bits met bytes, and it was MAGICAL. I'm also thinking, should I taint the legacy of SEGA by adding other consoles to this thing? Whaddaya reckon?

LOADS OF NEW GOODIES, COLLECTORS! ^_^

- Retrollect now includes complete sets for both PAL (European) and NTSC (North American) releases, so our buddies in the US and Canada can get in on the collecting fun!

- That illustrious little devil, the SEGA Pico, has been added! All thirty (or so) games released in European and North American territories have been added including the ultimate classic "Tails and the Music Maker", and the fantastic "Professor Pico and the Paintbox Puzzle". These are some of the rarest games to find, so good freakin' luck!

- As part of the iOS 9 festivities, Retrollect now supports split-screen multi-tasking on compatible iPads, as well as Picture in Picture for videos. This is great for watching those thrilling Phantasy Star Long Play videos while you do less important things in other apps!

- The app is also compatible with that massive new iPad Pro, so if your office is buying you one to make you look more productive, you can balance that out with Saturn Bomberman videos (10-player mode, YES!) and micro-managing your Micro Machines collection.

- Got one of those sexy new 6S iPhones? Stabbing everything extra-hard seeing if it handles 3D Touch? You bet it does. Retrollect now has dynamic shortcuts to jump to your biggest collections, or pick a random game from the database. You can also peek and pop to grab quick descriptions of games from the console lists.

- Lovely little short descriptions of most games have been added, courtesy of the lovely GiantBomb and their even lovelier API. Ever want to know what Dreamcast hit Cannon Spike was based on? You bet you do.

- We also picked a load of bug bogeys, crashes, ugly UI mishaps, and schoolboy errors, and flicked them away. We kept that Mega Drive copy of Boogerman though, that's a CLASSIC platformer!

Note: since I completely re-wrote the app's game collection to include more accurate data for European and North American territories, your existing owned game list will be reset by this update. But hey, filling it up again is a great excuse to re-live all those amazing games in your collection!
