About Rise Club Magazine

Soul City Institute is a social justice organisation for young women and girls and the communities they live in.

Rise is a programme of Soul City targeting young women and girls between the ages 15 - 24 from disadvantaged backgrounds and living in informal settlements and young women aged 25 – 35 years, living in rural, peri-urban and urban areas.

Rise Young Women’s Clubs aim to mobilise and empower young women to participate in taking responsible action to shape their lives and the communities they live in. There are clubs across the country for girls in school and out of school.

The Rise programme aims to mobilise young women as a collective and to link them to quality services. It is about girls and young women making healthy lifestyle choices and building a movement of young women to deal with issues and challenges they face on a daily basis and that stop them from reaching their potential.
