SchoolTool Mobile

Updated the app to add behind-the-scenes support for Identity Provider-managed authentication and resolved an issue where the Assignments tab wasn’t properly respecting permissions for displaying in-progress grade book average. These changes were added in anticipation of an upcoming SchoolTool release and will not be activated until the district has installed that new release.

Resolved an issue where users were unable to see the header bar in the SchoolTool mobile app on devices running iOS version 16.1.1 and higher, which prevented users from using the header to quickly navigate between multiple students and using Refresh and Search functionality.

Users now have the ability to switch between Spanish and English when using the mobile app. The language selector is available on the login screen, as well as from the Settings screen once you've logged in. Please note that the translation applies primarily to labels within the mobile app; some content, such as user-entered notes and grading comments, may not be translated.

Version 7.6 provides corrected styles for the "Sign in with Google" button along with some behind-the-scenes updates that will be required to support features expected to be released in the next version of SchoolTool, available this summer.

Version 7.5 provides users with the ability to enlarge student photos from the Students list (available to parents from the Home screen or to faculty from within search results). This update also adds support for screen rotation (horizontal/landscape orientation) on the login screen.

The Version 7.4 update re-introduces the Grade Book Average to the Assignments view, allowing users to see a student’s in-progress average for a specific course. The Grade Book Average has also been added to the Grades view, where it will be visible if marking period grades have not yet been published for that class. This update also includes changes to messaging for invalid usernames and/or passwords, along with bug fixes related to Google Sign-In. Please note that users may not have access to updated features until their district has upgraded to SchoolTool version 19.2.

Please note that Version 7.3 requires iOS version 15.0 or higher. The Version 7.3 update addresses an issue where the app's header and main menu might not be visible in certain versions of iOS. It also includes a fix to ensure that assignment scores of "100/100" will no longer be cut off on the Assignments screen.

The Version 7.2 update introduces a new Forms area where parents and students can submit responses to district-assigned forms. It also adds a new "Forgot Password" link to the login screen so users with existing email-based accounts can request a new password. These features are dependent on district configuration and are only available for districts using SchoolTool 19.1 or higher. This update also includes bug fixes for Dark Mode and an issue with the Google Login button.

Version 7.1 provides an updated user interface, including enhancements to navigation for all users. It also introduces a new “Student Contact Info” page within the Contacts.

Version 7.0.3 fixes an issue where some users might experience application crashes at login. In addition, the URL entry field now allows users to copy and paste the district’s URL appropriately and provides more user-friendly validation messages for invalid URLs.

Version 7.0 features an updated user interface with simplified workflow.

Version 6.0 features an updated color scheme and new logo to reflect changes to SchoolTool branding.

Version 5.1 includes the option to set up push notifications for daily attendance and marking period grades.

Version 5.0 includes support for direct notifications sent in batch from the Actions tab in schooltool.

The Version 4.2.4 update provides users with the ability to email teachers from the Full Schedule view on the student record. It also resolves an issue where users might see “Invalid URL” messages when trying to log in with a valid URL, and includes some additional minor bug fixes.

Perfomance updates.

A number of enhancements are included in the newest version of the mobile app. Unread message counts for Discussions are now displayed in the main menu as well as in the Discussions list itself, and users now have the ability to view discussion participants. In addition, users can now view Daily Notes on Teacher Pages.

Version 3.0.7 of the schooltool mobile app includes several bug fixes.

Version 3.0.2 of the schooltool mobile app includes a number of new features:
A new Discussions view is now available for users to participate in discussions with their teachers.
A Teacher Pages view allows users to access Teacher Pages, which shows information posted by teachers such as announcements, course expectations, etc. for individual course sections.
The schooltool mobile application now checks for compatibility between the mobile app version and the district's version of school tool when logging into the app.
A number of other bug fixes.

Version 2.1 of the school tool mobile app includes a number of new features:
A new Grades view is now available to display students' marking period grades.
Students will now have the ability to receive direct notifications from teachers and district staff.
A Notifications screen was added for students to show the previous 2 weeks worth of notifications.
District messages can now be displayed as welcome messages when users log into the mobile app.
The app will now respect the "Stay Logged In" options for users who exit the app without logging out.
A number of other bug fixes.

The most recent version (2.0) includes a new student search feature for teachers and administrators as well as new look and feel on all screens. It also features a new Contacts area to show student contact details and student call order.
