About SleepStudy

What is SleepStudy?

Today, medical science has the tools to monitor a person’s sleep quality in real time and record the minute details of their physiological state. But getting this data usually means spending the night away from home, in a sleep lab. In these facilities, doctors diagnose sleep apnea and other disorders by having patients undergo an overnight sleep study, also known as polysomnography. Electrodes are attached to the patient’s body and head, and machines record how long and deeply they slept (and how many times they woke up).

This testing is highly effective. But there are downsides: Sleep labs can be far from home, overnighting there upsets your daily routine, and many patients have trouble getting to sleep in an unfamiliar bed. This “first night syndrome” can result in data that don’t reflect your usual sleep habits.

There is an easier way. With today’s technology, a polysomnograpy can be performed at home—known as a lab sleep study in at Home.

Home Sleep Study Benefits

SleepStudy empowers patients to take control of their own sleep health. So how does it work? Order the Personal Sleep Tracker, and you’ll receive an all-in-one tracking device, sensors, and detailed instructions on how to use them. Attach the electrodes, spend the night in your own bed, and the next day you can view all your data on our free, easy-to-use tracking app.

SleepStudy eliminates the wasted time, travel cost and inconvenience of staying at a clinic. It puts sleep testing within reach of home-bound, elderly, or chronically ill patients who may require specialized care like an overnight nurse. And while sleep labs run on a strict schedule with designated sleep hours, SleepStudy lets you test yourself whenever you need to—ideal for people who work night shifts, or just have trouble finding the time in their schedule to go to a lab.

Sleeping in your own bed is more convenient. It also yields great results, since your sleep quality isn’t affected by “first night syndrome” and the anxiety that comes with sleeping at a lab. Because of this, SleepStudy is as effective as a lab sleep test at diagnosing obstructive sleep apnea. And it costs just a fraction as much. SleepStudy is helping more patients get diagnosed and treated, and get the rest they deserve.
