‣ G-Force acceleration monitor
Use MENU>MODES>"G-Force monitor" (or force touch on the app icon). G-Force monitor calibrates itself as you drive to deduce what is the horizontal force and which direction is forward and back.
‣ Waypoints improvements
This release brings a lot for waypoints:
* Multiple active waypoint collections.
* "Nearby" filter for waypoints list.
* URL waypoint collections. Know the url of the file with pois is or maintain your very own one? Add a url based collection to speedo and have it synchronized (bi)weekly, monthly or manually.

‣‣ REMEMBER speed limit
Apply speed limits once as you drive and let speedometer store them to re-apply automatically for you! Short instruction and video tutorial in a documentation section will show you how to become a speed limits master :).
‣‣ 8 speed limits option
Once speedometer started to remember speed limits it became obvious that it needs more than 4 values for that. Hold your finger on “Limit presets” button above the presets until the customization options open and chose “8 speed limits” option. This will also hopefully make all Australian users happy!!
‣‣ SPEEDING TOLERANCE settings
It was a common request to have a 25 mph speed limit value, but be alerted on 30 mph let’s say. Now this is possible! Set it up in "Advanced Settings" > "Speed Colors & Buffer". A percentage value can be applied for a buffer value in addition to an absolute value in mph or km/h (and knots). Tap on a blue mph or km/h button there to switch to %.
‣‣ ALERT on speed and red light cameras (or any other kind of a waypoint/poi)
Speedometer can now alert you on approaching any type of a waypoint. You can create and edit your own speed and red light cameras within the app or just feed speedometer a file from poi-factory, poi-plaza or many other poi sites that might have very fresh and local to you data. A handy proximity monitor will show the nearest waypoints on your way and will alert you with beep, voice and vibration options. Collected waypoints can be shared via email in iGO, Navitel or GARMIN csv formats.
‣‣ New options for HEADS-UP/FULL screen
Now speedometer remembers if you used a mirrored heads-up for the last time or a full screen mode and will let you open that recently used mode with one button. Also vows for remembering the orientation lock settings in hud/full screen have been fulfilled.
You can pick from 5 extra options to be shown in hud/full screen. That includes time, altitude, total trip distance, current distance counter and GPS course. Any two of extra options can be shown at once.
‣‣ Separate SOUND and VOICE alert volumes
For voice and sound alerts you can now set a different, from system, volume. "Advanced Settings" > "Alert Sounds", bottom of a list.

‣‣ Millions of speed colors
Ability to setup speed digits to any color. Hold finger on a digit in "Advanced settings">"Speed colors" or "Heads-up and full screen options" to open a color picker.
‣‣ GPS tracks colored by speed or altitude
Recorded track can be shown on a map colored by speed or altitude. Tap on a violet box with min, average and max speed values to open track coloring options.
‣‣ Infotainment
When waiting on traffic lights or in a jam, weather information, trip stats and twitter timeline information can be shown. Enable via "Advanced settings" > “Zero speed and NO GPS” > “Show infotainment”. Extra settings button there provides options for granular infotainment setup. When infotainment is shown, you can tap on it with two fingers to pause, remove or set it up. You can also swipe on infotainment left or right to change between information slides. Weather and twitter require internet connection, but consume only very moderate amount of data.
‣‣ Notification about GPS non-activity
Speedometer can now notify you when you left it tracking on just working in background and there was no GPS activity for a longer time. Set in "Advanced settings" > "Zero Speed or NO GPS">"Background mode notification".
‣‣ Zero speed inclusion in average speed
Speedometer has now two options to calculate the average speed - only based on moving time (a default), or based on a total time and distance.
‣‣ Full screen mode
Double tap on numbers in heads-up screen to revert to a full screen. Swipe left/right to switch the speed limit. Hold your finger on digits to open menu with more options.
‣‣ More options for Heads-up screen
Use a landscape mode to make speed digits bigger. Swipe left/right to switch the speed limit. Hold your finger on digits to open menu with more options.
‣‣ Night mode
Main screen, heads-up and full screen now support a night mode. Available either via “Advanced settings” > “Night mode” or just hold your finger on speed digits until menu opens with night mode options. You can force ON and OFF as well as let speedometer to apply the night mode automatically, based on sunrise and sunset times.
‣‣ New GPS tracking options
+ GPS tracking is extended with an option to avoid recording optimizations ("Advanced settings">"GPS tracking">"Optimize recording"). Optimization is on by default and helps to minimize the track data size while still keeping it very smooth and detailed on a map. This is quite sufficient for most of the regular driving scenarios, but might be undesirable for sports related activities where every point might be a significant one.
+ You can now avoid picking the tracking mode (GPS journal or statistics only) on each track start by setting you preference in "Advanced settings">"GPS tracking">"Preferred Tracking Type".
+ New Google Earth export format added - gx:track. That allows to "re-play" the track in Google Earth with its speed data shown side by side with the "elevation graph" (tab "speed-r").
‣‣ Show fuel run-up
By tapping on the place where fuel cost is now displayed in a cost monitor, you can switch to a fuel consumption display. Switch back to fuel price by tapping there again.
‣‣ Small things.
+ Tap on a timer in GPS tracking panel switches between timer and average speed.
+ Maximum detailed GPS track recording time is extended to about 32 hours (in optimized recording mode and when built-in GPS receiver is used). After exceeding that period, tracking continues to record only track statistics. Please beware that on older devices; extremely long tracks may take longer to show on map and export.
+ Improved app start up time and CPU/battery utilization.
+ Switching the trip while having the track recording active, ends the active track.
+ Navigate via Waze option is added a waypoint navigation options

** Waypoints **
Now You can create waypoints as you drive. Waypoints are not mute, you can attach an audio note to them and photo. Creation of a waypoint may be as easy as double tap on speed digits. Hold the speed digits until menu comes up asking for what to do on a double tap.
** New menu **
Now you can see and control all of the app main functions in one place and with button sizes that you can't miss. We hope you'll find this new menu a great addition especially for landscape mode on iPhone and of course, iPad. A handy option to open this menu is to double tap on speed digits.
** Rally computer **
This is not a 100% substitute for a $200 rally computer, but may serve you well in many occasions. The idea is, that instead of a map, you can get some selected counters to be shown in quite bigger fonts. To switch rally mode on, hold the "MAP" arrow and release. You'll see options to switch to rally computer or back to a map. Double tap on a big counter will switch to the next available value. Hold and release on an upper distance counter will open more options for distance correction.
** Live map. Lock up north, remember the scale and viewing angle **
Showing the map with area ahead of you on top is still our preferred way. Though having map top always pointing to north is quite convenient to many map experts. There is an option added in "Advanced Settings" > "Map Settings" to lock the map on north. In addition to that option, the map zoom level and viewing angle are now remembered.
** Even more options for the live map **
Just hold your finger on a live map until menu with options appears. You can choose if waypoints should be shown on the map, if map should track your location or not and open map settings.
** Vibrate instead of or in addition to the sound alert **
Option is located in "Advanced Settings" > "Alert sounds" at the bottom of sounds list. Useful for scenarios when you keep iPhone in your pocket and still want to be alerted.
** Designed for iOS7, still supporting iOS5.1 and iOS6 **
We applied iOS7 specifics where required. As iOS 7 gives you an extra control in system settings to decide if app can access location services in background, we now give you a warning that some of the functions might be unavailable when you disable background location access for speedometer.
** GPS black box control **
It is possible to switch the black box off or clear its data. As black box function is connected to GPS tracking function, you will not be able to switch black box off or clear it when GPS tracking is in progress. End your current track first to be able to fully control the black box.
** Single GPS track sharing and export **
You can share a single track via email, facebook or twitter and export it to Google Earth (kmz format). An option is also added to see the track and its statistics on a single screen. That's probably the best option to share from.
** Option to disable GPS error popups **
Every GPS error message now has an extra "Ignore" button that lets you disable those popups.
** Miscellany **
All export formats are now pure comma delimited so you can open it in Excel with no extra effort.
Built-in iPod player now handles headphone disconnection in a better way.
Maximum length of detailed GPS track is now 16 hours instead of 8 when built in GPS is used.

∙∙∙ For all who loves the map. This one always looks ahead based either on compass or GPS course and gives you a short breadcrumb tail for better orientation. It is the rightmost dashboard. This "live" map is Google's one and requires internet connection, if used.
∙∙∙ For sailors and golf cart riders. Ability to show decimal precision speed when it is lower than 100. "Advanced Settings>Digits Format>Show decimal dot".
∙∙∙ For control freaks :) like us. Optional GPS tracking. The best way to get to it is to tap on a new "list" button on top, then "Tracks" and "Learn and switch on".

Those of us having iPods or wifi-only iPads and thus using external GPS modules will love this release as it brings tuned and tested updates for high-accuracy modules with as high update rate as 10 times per second with GARMIN GLO. Higher rates should be supported, but we don’t have what to test it with.
The rest may appreciate higher precision of an odometer (about 1% win per our calculations) and higher frequency odometer updates.
* Please note, that those mentioned high accuracy external GPS modules are only good for your GPS-less devices mentioned, you can find more info on our blog for why.
