About Talk For Me - Text to Speech
Great for phone calls and FaceTime and with iOS 17 it now supports Personal Voice.
Talk For Me - Text to Speech will help you to communicate with ease. Type in the main text area or tap one of the six main custom buttons and your iPhone or iPad will talk for you. Need to make a phone call or a FaceTime audio or video call? Automagically the spoken text will be heard on the other caller's phone or iPad when on a call. Want to set up more custom phrases? Swipe up for more pages with custom editable buttons. Need even more? Save phrases in an archive database. This is great for saving partial sentences or for temporary text in preparation for a phone call or meeting. A quick swipe left, select a sentence from your archive, and it will appear in the main window ready for you to complete or use. Can you type fast or need to spell a word? Turn on the Auto Speech Function to have every word or letter spoken as you enter it. Together with keyboard shortcuts, predictive text and your custom phrases, this app will allow you to communicate with ease.

If your chosen voice has both an enhanced and premium option, download the premium option as that will be used.

iOS 16 adds a lot of great accessibility enhancements to the built in voice files. Due to the changes, you will most likely need to re-download the voices you use. And you will have to reset the voice to all of your previously set custom buttons. This update allows you to adjust the speech rate for each custom button individually. Now when you long press on a custom button, the edit area contains a speech rate slider. After adjusting the slider to your preference, press save and the speech rate will be saved for that individual button only. This update also includes some minor enhancements and fixes.

Version 1.11 enabled the ability to use the app during phone calls. Instead of playing the audio through your iPhone speakers, when on a call it will automatically play through to the other person's phone.

When we use this app, we need to raise the volume of our devices.
• Download Shortcuts in The App Store.
• Create a new Shortcut in the Shortcuts app that raises the volume and opens Talk For Me all in one step.
• Add the Shortcuts Widget to your Today View and simply swipe right on your home screen and choose the Talk For Me widget you created and the app will open with the volume necessary for good and efficient communication.
