About Taman Botani Negara Shah Alam

Shah Alam National Botanical Gardens was originally known as TPM, formerly known as Taman Cerakah Bukit Taman, was first developed on April 24, 1986, before being celebrated as the Taman Pertanian Malaysia of Bukit Cahaya Seri Alam by Almarhum Sultan Salahudin Abdul Aziz Shah Al-Haj ibni Hisamuddin Alam Shah Al- Haj in 1991. The name TBNSA is now in line with the decision of the Cabinet in 2007 to develop TBNSA in place of the TPM.

TBNSA is developed as a center of excellence in education, scientific research and conservation for the development of botanical, horticultural, agricultural and other related fields.

- TBNSA as an educational centre, scientific research and conservation for the development of botanical, horticultural, agricultural and other related fields.
- TBNSA as an educational centre to educate the public about the role of forest resources and resources.
- TBNSA as a centralised to document, protect, preserve and conserve rare, endangered and valuable native plants in Malaysia.
- To raise awareness to appreciate the source of plants in Malaysia.
- Become one of the world-class recreation centers for the community.
