About Tennis Map

Tennis Map Play.
Hi, I’m Styrling Strother, and my goal over the past 2 years was to develop a tennis point tracking app that would transform the
way parents, players, and coaches see a tennis match.

One of the common misconceptions when watching a tennis match is that the average number of shots in a rally are more than 8. One of the main reasons we perceive that rallies are long is that our eyes are attracted to motion and when we watch a tennis match, we will automatically focus our eyes on the ball moving back and forth over the net.

Tennis Map Play is designed to reinforce this focus in order to distinguish perception from reality and develop better practice sessions and scenarios that reflect more of what happens on the match court. The App is designed to track each point and it’s rally length to give you a clearer picture of why you win and lose tennis matches.

The Tennis Map Play charts are developed to direct the player and coach towards asking better questions of when and how a point or series of points were won or lost in each game. Once the data charts are viewed and analyzed, the coach will be able to develop a more competitive and intelligent practice environment, the player will feel a sense of control and confidence when competing for points, and the parent will experience a new and refreshing way of watching their player throughout competition when using the Tennis Map Play App.
