Texas Traveler Description
Texas Traveler shows you the current status of major roads and highways throughout the state. By accessing Texas Department of Transportation extensive road data, you can view traffic cameras, read alerts about construction and other road-related issues, get stats from weather stations, and read roadside signboard messages. You can also view flood stations and their current status around the whole state, as well as those numerous historical markers you've always been meaning to stop and read. Also available is Google Traffic, to show you how congested the roads are in real time.

All of this is displayed on a map with ease of use for panning and zooming. Only interested in certain areas? You can define your own regions and quickly view them, or use one of the several predefined areas.
Texas Traveler 3.2 Update
2023-01-30
This minor release fixes these issues:

1. The highway labels disappeared when we upgraded the underlying map technology. This fix brings the labels back
2. We renamed the "Filter" tab back to "Legend". You can still filter the pins you see, but we felt the purpose of it is mainly as a legend, so we renamed it back.

This version updates the underlying Map software to get the latest bug fixes and improvements.
3.0 2022-07-06
We've made many changes on both the backend and the frontend of the app:

• All layers are now free of charge
• You can change the map style to one of several options. Access from the Settings tab
• The Legend has been renamed to Filter. It still provides legend information, but you can also filter out certain markers you don't want to see
• News pins for most data layers
• The refresh button has been moved from the Layers menu to a button right on the map, in the upper left corner
• Cleaned up the UI on the Search tab
• Improved UI on weather stations
• Removed the speed overlay; it essentially duplicated the Traffic overlay
• Updated alerts with more information and lane closures
• Some flood stations now show rainfall data
2.3 2021-09-09
This is a mandatory update due to the old server going out of commission in mid-September. Please update; the old versions will stop working.
2.1 2019-11-13
Fixed a bug where the Traffic menu item turned off when switching regions.
2.0 2019-11-02
It has been almost a year in the making: Texas Traveler has been rewritten from the ground up. Not only will you find a shiny new interface, but there are few new features. Here are the details:

• Side menu has been replaced with tabs and smaller menus
• New color theme, plus you can change it
• More weather stations are being shown
• Added rest areas as a new layer
• Now you can get free trials for any in-app purchase features
• Search! Now you can search for roads, towns, or most any place on a map
• Some layers have a legend, so you know what the colors and icons mean
• Weather stations now display the current temperature on the map and are color-coded
• Only the signboards that currently have text on them are displayed on the map
1.2 2017-10-03
• Updated the old San Antonio Flood Stations package to now include flood stations across the whole state. These show current water levels and charts. Previous purchasers of the San Antonio Flood Stations package will automatically get access to this new package.
• UI improvements on iPad
• Fixed a bug with app discovery in the App Store
• Squashed some bugs
1.1 2016-12-09
For this version we have added support for historical markers.
Also fixed a bug where purchasing the removal of ads didn't actually remove the ads. With this fix, you shouldn't have to repurchase.
