About Timist - Focus Time Tracker

Timist combines the unique Timist Session System with time tracking. You can create different timers and track the time for each of them. It also lets you break your time down into concrete intervals, separated by short breaks. You can customise everything, from session length to reminder notifications at the end of an interval. Timist makes you more productive and helps you get more done in less time.

Key features:
- Create different timers and track the time for each of them
- Organize your timers with tags
- View detailed analytics of every one of your timers
- The Timeline: all of your sessions, from now to the beginning of time
- Get beautiful charts for your weekly, monthly and yearly progress
- Two styles: timers that run without intervals (continuous mode) and timers that use the Timist Session System (you can choose for every timer)
- Timist Session System: divide your timers into sessions and breaks
- Rich and interactive notifications as reminders at the end of sessions and breaks
- Reminders for really long running timers (should you ever forget to stop one)
- Simply adjust start and end time
- Export your data as a CSV file to port it wherever you need to
- Customise everything, for the entire app or for every timer: duration of sessions and breaks, number of sessions between long breaks, auto-start of breaks, reminders and how frequently they appear, and a whole lot more…

What else?
- Privacy first: All your data is always private and secure and cannot be accessed by anyone other than you.
- Long breaks: Let Timist automatically remind to you take longer breaks when working.
- Fully native: Timist is right at home on iOS as a fully native Swift app and uses everything the platform has to offer.
- Smart bottom navigation: iPhones are getting bigger, so Timist’s control panel is designed specifically for thumb navigation.
- Archiving: Some timers don’t require your attention anymore, so simply archive them and declutter your list.
- Smart backdate: Forgot to start a timer? Timist makes it super easy to backdate a timer.
- Dark mode. For all the night owls, and those who check on their hours after a long day of work.
- Custom app icons: for everyone, who wants to make it personal

Timist Pro:
Timist is free to use with up to 5 timers, a bit less customisation and fewer features. Subscribe to Timist Pro to unlock all of Timist’s great features!

Tags and Alternate Icons! This version of Timist adds the ability to assign tags to timers for better organisation and more powerful analytics (Timist Pro only). You can also select from a range of alternate icons for even more personalization.

New:
- Tags: Assign tags to timers for organization and analytics (Timist Pro only). Simply head to any timer, select tags and start typing. In Analytics, tap the #-icon to select which tags you want to display. Tags are obviously also included in the export.
- Custom app icons (Timist Pro only). In Settings, there is a new option called "alternate icons". Browse and select your favourite!

Improved:
- In the Settings tab and a bunch of other places are a couple of small visual improvements: new icons, better alignment and the lot.
- When going to the Timeline tab, Timist will now automatically scroll to the top if you haven't looked at the timeline in a while.

Squashed a few bugs and tweaked a few UI things here and there. 2020.7 is where the big redesign happened!

- Fixed leading action on Timer in archived view.
- Fixed an issue where the side panel for switching between timers and archived timers would open in the wrong view.
- Polished a few UI elements to provide a more clear distinction between a label and a button.
- Fixed an issue where the notification for a long running timer would not be properly removed if the timer was discarded.
- Updated the buttons in the control panel to make them more easily understandable.
- Updated a few things in the subscription flow.
- Changed a bunch of wording in various places.

This update brings a brand new look to Timist and the biggest redesign since the apps inception. An update so big, it's almost easier to talk about what hasn't changed.

Timist now has an all new tab-bar based interface. More modern and a better usability, all while keeping the great bottom navigation and making it even more versatile. There are now four main areas:
- Timers: All of your timers (the old main screen, but now with a side panel and a preview for what's coming next)
- Timeline: all of your sessions
- Analytics: Beautiful charts, providing you with deep insights into your data
- Settings: Well, it's settings. But here are the global sessions and breaks.

New:
- All new look - not just the tab bar, but a visual look more in line with Apple's current direction.
- The Timeline: All of your sessions, all the way back to the beginning of time.
- The new timers view: All of your timers, with a slick side panel to switch to your archived ones (and a preview of what's coming).
- First time users will have an easier time thanks to a better user education when they arrive in an empty app.

Improved:
- The calendar view now comes with massive performance improvements and greatly speeds up the analytics. No more waiting on beautiful charts.
- The currently running timer now blinks in the timer view. Blinky blink.
- The analytics view is also in a brand new design and now shows changes to the previous time frame (e.g. how much more time you have tracked this week).
- Changed the display of durations in the app. Gone are the superscript hours and minutes.

Fixed:
- Fixed an issue where the Sessions and Breaks for an individual timer would not display correctly.
- Fixed an issue where on deleting a timer, another timer would be stopped.
- Fixed an issue where notification actions would not correctly trigger in the app (e.g. tapping "Start timer" on a break elapsed notification).
- Grass was growing a wee(d) bit to fast in the last update. It slowed down now.
- Fixed an error where intialising a break on restart of the app would show the wrong duration.
- Fixed an issue where the mail composition view in the feedback section could not be dismissed. It was missing a delegate.
2020.6

Fixed an issue with delivered and pending notifications not being correctly removed.

This update contains just a quick bug fix. Here's everything that is new in 2020.4:

A bit more whimsy, reminders if you ever forget to stop a timer and an all new onboarding - this one's got it all.

- New: Timist will now show you the total time you tracked in settings - and what it equates to in the real world. Fun facts, with new ones coming all the time.
- New: Timist will now send you a notification for unusually long running timers. Should you ever forget to stop one, we’ve now got you covered. These reminders will be specific for every timer and are included in the free version.
- Improved: The Sessions and Breaks settings now look slightly different. They should be a lot easier to use and understand.
- Improved: Reminders for elapsed sessions and breaks are now included in the free version.
- Improved: The onboarding experience has changed dramatically. You should now understand the app a lot better - and have it customised to your liking.
- Fixed an issue where the app would crash on starting a new session. Timers that were supposed to be stopped were still behaving like they were active and wrecking the party for everyone.

Welcome to the Dark Side
Thanks to iOS 13, Timist now has a beautiful dark mode that is easier on the eyes - for all the night owls, and those who check on their hours after a long day of work. And of course for everyone else.

- [New]: You can now check out your history in the new calendar view. Simply swipe left from the regular bar charts and get an overview of how your sessions are spread out across your days. More of a night owl than an early bird? It’s never been easier to find that out.
- [New]: Speaking of night owls, Timist’s new Dark Mode makes it easier on the eyes in dark environments. For now, Timist simply follows the system setting - more customisation is coming soon!
- [Improved]: The bar chart in the history view now correctly displays sessions that span multiple days. Previously, the entire duration of the timer would be displayed on the day the timer started. Now it can span multiple days.
- [Improved]: The timer detail view now shows the total time of the current week instead of the trailing seven days to better reflect the bar chart (which only shows the current week).
- [Fixed]: Fixed some layout issues on smaller iPhones (SE-size).
- [Fixed]: Fixed an issue where the history would not update when sessions where deleted.
- [Fixed]: Fixed a crash in Settings. UISearchController and iOS 13 don’t like each other right now.
- [Fixed]: Fixed the display of total time on certain timers, where breaks would be counted as active time as well.
2019.3
Jul 30, 2019
This is a minor update to fix a couple of bugs. Not much to see here.

- [Fixed]: Fixed an issue where the currently running timer was not displayed correctly in the timer detail view.
- [Fixed]: Fixed an issue where the bar chart in the main timer view was not displayed correctly.
- [Fixed]: Fixed an issue where at the end of a timer when starting the break automatically was disabled, the stop timer button would not show (and only the start break button was visible).
- [Fixed]: Fixed an issue where both last week and the week before would display as last week in the History. Going back exactly seven days leads you to the same weekday - who knew?
- [Fixed]: Fixed an issue where the timer name would not truncate correctly and push the total timer display out of the cell.
- [Fixed]: Fixed an issue where an empty history view would get no colours to display and crash into an existential crisis.
- [Fixed]: Fixed an issue where the disclosure indicators in the control panel went missing. Found them now.
- [Fixed]: Fixed an issue where the timer name would eclipse its duration in the events view.
2019.2
Jul 19, 2019
This is the first update - with many, many more to come.

- [Improved]: The preview of the currently running timer will now also show in the timer detail view.
- [Improved]: The app now informs you about the newest updates right in the app. Head over to settings to check it out!

- [Fixed]: Timers that spanned two days would not show up on the quick history on the main screen.

I also fought a nasty bug on the iOS 13 Public Beta 2 for 10 hours... which then just went away on the Public Beta 3. Good times.
