tour•botPro has now been updated to iOS8 goodness and has been renamed: tourbot4Pro
It includes all the features of tourbot4 with all in-App purchases of report options included! It's a bargain compared to purchasing each report separately.

The most advanced App for scoring and reporting Golf Tournament results available on any mobile platform has been completely reimagined for iOS 8 and is now exclusive for iOS 8.

This totally new App replaces tour•bot and offers all the new features that golfers are asking for such as Foursome Scheduling and Manual / Automatic Flight Creation (4-types).

All screens have been updated to Apple's iOS8 user interface standards and now support the iPad in a more useful way.

New controls are now available in the hole-by-hole scoring tools to make the "Cancel", "Save" buttons easier to access and a new feature to allow you to save a player's results and immediately advance to the next player for scoring has been added: "Save►"

We are always working on ways to speed scoring so that the largest tournaments are quickly scored and your feedback is vital, Please contact us at info@nexus-core.com with your questions or suggestions.

Major New Features: Player Handicap Utilities, Alternate Tee Assignment, and scoring Notifications are now incorporated into tour•botPlayer.

Notifications: This version of tour•botPlayer has a new feature for tournaments using "Many Sync" setup sharing. "Many Sync" makes it fast and easy for all participants to download the tournament specifics established by the tournament director directly onto their iOS device.

Then when any device completes scoring for a player, all users sharing the "Many Sync" setup will receive a notification. Also, when an upload of scores occurs, a notification will be sent.

The tournament scorekeeper can then download the posted scores and update the tournament results so that by the time the foursomes check into the club house, all scoring will be complete.

There is no extra charge for this service - please advise if you have any problems. info@nexus-core.com

Alternate Tees: From the "More" menu revealed when swiping on a Player on the Scoring scree, you may now select "Assign Player to alternate tee". Finally, you will be able to have mixed tournaments, with as many tees as required.

Player Handicap Index Utilities: From the Tour Setup screen, touch the HCPi Utilities button to access three new options, Freeze (Lock) all tour players Handicap Index calculation, Unfreeze (Unlock) to allow the App to evolve the index per USGA rules and Player Handicap Index maintenance, which will show a new high-speed tool to quickly maintain all players' Handicap Index. It's the fastest way yet to manage large tournament populations and only tour•bot has it!

Finally, two new help and information resources have been added to the Information tab, youTube videos and tour•bot's Facebook page where you can read all the latest on tour•bot releases.

Improved Player Report to identify that a player has had their Course HCP manually overridden.

New tournament report - Eclectic Tournament
The Eclectic Tournamnet scoring report is a popular "Tournament"-type reports. An eclectic tournament is a multi-round golf tournament that results in one 18-hole score per player. Eclectic work this way: Each golfer plays X number of rounds, and for each golfer, tour•bot compares his scores on each hole per round. The lowest score made on each hole is recorded, producing an 18-hole score. For example, let's say the eclectic is made up of three rounds. In the first round, the golfer scores a 6 on hole No. 1; in Round 2, he scores a 7 on hole No. 1; in Round 3, he scores a 4 on hole No. 1. The lowest of those three scores on the first hole is a 4, so that is the golfer's eclectic score. So the golfer compares his scores on each hole in every round of the eclectic, selects the lowest per-hole score, and that is his eclectic scorecard. In tour•bot, the rounds may be Strokes (Gross or Net) or Stableford (Gross or Net) or Stableford-Modified (Gross or Net).

tour•bot and tour•botPlayer are now merged! As a result of increasing complexity in maintaining three separate codebases for tour•bot, tour•botPro and tour•botPlayer, we've decided to merge all the goodness that is tour•botPlayer with all the goodness that is tour•bot! With this version, there is NO difference between the two apps.

The Internet-Focused functions of tour•botPlayer is now available within tour•bot on the built-in archive from tour•bot is now available in tour•botPro and tour•botPlayer.

NOTE: Bump has been disabled from the App due to technical delays. We hope to restore Bump in a future release. In the mean time, you may use Tour Setup Sharing to accomplish the same results.

Tour Setup Sharing is used to distribute the tour setup information to other Apple iDevices running their own tour•bot / tour•botPro and tour•botProPlayer app so that each foursome with an iDevice can do their scoring real-time from the course. I will discuss this in more detail below so let's concentrate on the setup subject first.

For example, you have a three day event of 90 holes for 12 players. First step is to pick a tour name and tour details that are unique and distinctive because the file will be uploaded to a common directory and if you use a name that someone has chosen there will be a conflict.

So if you plan to use any of these internet services (Tour Setup Sharing or Tour Score Sharing or Internet Leader Board), enter unique and specific information relating to your tour in the tour name and tour details field. For example, by using the date and place, you are likely to avoid an overlap with someone else:
Tour Name: Da Boys Slap-Down June 1 2013
Tour Details: Winter Haven Club, Blue, Green and Black

Next, you would ensure that all course / tee data is entered / downloaded (in the Pro App) and associated with your tour, "Da Boys Slap-Down June 1 2013". Double check the course / tee information to verify that the slope, rating, hole par and hole ranking is correct.

Now, enter any players and their handicap index that are not yet in tour•bot. You are likely to want "Freeze HCP" to stop the normal behavior to evolve all player's handicap index as per the USGA rules after five rounds are recorded. Finally, associate those 12 players with the tour.

Last, establish the event schedule for the tour, booking the course / tee for specific date and times of each round. For this example, you have five events over several days to schedule.

At this point, if you are using any teams (pairings), you would want to set them up. You may have teams that are applied for all events of a tournament or you may have teams that relate to a specific event. Change the settings under the "Games" screen to select the type of pairings you want. From this same screen, you do the team selection for tour teams and you use the "Scoring" screen to do the event level team pairings.

Now the tour setup is complete. If there will be other Apple iDevices (iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad) doing scoring for this tour, you can upload this setup and they can download the setup to transfer all of the above information into their device. You upload the tour setup from the tour details screen by touching the "Sync Many" button that is round and sort of looks like a Radar screen and select upload.

To download the setup (not the scoring, just the setup as above), create a new blank tour. Then edit the tour to have the exact same tour name and tour details as used on the scorekeepers device (for example):
Tour Name: Da Boys Slap-Down June 1 2013
Tour Details: Winter Haven Club, Blue, Green and Black

Touch the "Sync Many" button ( ) and select Download.

All course / tee, player data that does not already exist on the device will be added and the tour with it's event schedule will be loaded into the device. Now they have exactly what you setup on your device. Repeat for as many devices as you wish to have this setup.
