Transformer calculations made easy!
As with all our Apps this App provides the underlying maths and theory behind the calculations together with worked examples. This will allow you to not just get an answer, but more more importantly, to understand how the answer was derived.
Transformer Pie calculates the full load currents and short circuit parameters of transformers. The App has two calculation features, these being a simplified ‘Quick Calculation’ and a more comprehensive ‘Detailed Calculation’.
Quick Calculation:
The ‘Quick Calculation’ feature provides the following outputs:
- Short Circuit Current kA
- Secondary Full Load Current Amps
- Ohmic Impedance
- MVA Fault Power
Detailed Calculation:
The ‘Detailed Calculation’ feature provides the following outputs:
- Ohmic Impedance
- Primary Full Load Current
- Secondary Full Load Current
- Secondary Short Circuit MVA
- Three Phase Symmetrical Short Circuit
- Phase to Phase Short Circuit
- Phase to Earth Short Circuit
- Upstream Network Impedance
- Upstream Network Impedance referred to Secondary Voltage

We listened to your feedback.
The app now retains your calculations such that when the app is reopened your last calculation remains preserved. We’ve also added a reset feature to restore all calculations back to their original defaults.
We also made a few minor user interface changes to sharpen things up a little.
