About 佛說四十二章經

據曆史記載，《佛說四十二章經》是從印度傳到中國來的第壹部重要經典著作。迦葉摩騰、竺法蘭把佛所說的某壹段話稱爲壹章，共選集了四十二段話，編集成了這部《佛說四十二章經》。又繪畫釋迦牟尼佛像供養，由是東土佛法僧三寶具足，是爲佛教傳入中國之始。《佛說四十二章經》集結了佛陀關于持戒、忍辱、斷欲、精進、觀空等事的四十二段語錄。通篇言簡義豐，明了易懂，通攝大小乘壹切教義，涵諸法要。這部經典反複強調了持戒的重要性，告訴佛教弟子應該如何修行。祖師大德將此經和《佛遺教經》、《八大人覺經》合稱之爲《佛遺教三經》。
