Calibrator has just received its first overhaul and has been redesigned from the ground up!

Over the years, Calibrator has evolved as we've added more brackets, more sensor types, and new accessories like our Wide Vision Lens. This created more complexity within the app. We have been collecting your feedback, and it has now culminated in the first complete redesign, rebuild and refactoring of Calibrator: Calibrator 4.0.

In this release we are delighted to report:

We Fixed:
- Custom bracket calibration (It works again!)
- Many, many issues previously causing random app crashes

Enhanced:
- We discontinued the need for wifi access to calibrate your sensor
- We’ve updated the user interface to make it more intuitive and cleaner
- We’ve improved the app so you can calibrate faster than ever before. (Dare we call it zippy?)
- To keep the user experience as clean and comprehensible as possible, we have also removed direct support for older brackets that are no longer supported and have poor processor power performance.

Calibrator v3.1.2

- Fixes a bug introduced in Calibrator v3.1.1 that made it impossible to progress through bracket calibration using the Original Structure Sensor.
- Fixes a bug where transitions between app modes would sometimes cause Calibrator to behave in an inconsistent state, preventing users from calibrating Structure Sensor (Mark II) units after performing wide-vision lens (WVL) calibration.

Calibrator v3.1.1:

- Resolved a bug that prevented some users from completing bracket calibration on the iPad Pro 9.7-inch.
- Resolved a bug that would sometimes cause Calibrator to crash when transitioning between modes while streaming from Structure Sensor (Mark II) sensors. Previously, disconnecting and reconnecting the sensor was required to continue with calibration. This bug fix solves this issue.
- Improved mode transition performance in the UI for each stage of calibration for Structure Sensor (Mark II) sensors.
- Increased the infrared framerate to 30FPS during calibration for Structure Sensor (Mark II) sensors with firmware 0.9.9 or newer.

Calibrator v3.1

- Calibrator v3.1 features a number of stability fixes as well as improved support for Structure Sensor (Mark II). For best results, please update your firmware to at least version 0.9.9 using the latest Structure App.
- Calibrator now has a prompt to upgrade your Structure Sensor (Mark II) firmware if it is out-of-date. This prompt will take you directly to the new Structure App to update your firmware to version 0.9.9 if it is not already upgraded.
- Calibrator is now optimized for the 2019 iPad (7th Generation)
- Calibrating iPhone devices with Bridge headsets will now work with Structure Sensor (Mark II). Note: Bridge Engine does not currently support Structure Sensor (Mark II).
- Calibrating with custom extrinsics has changed for Mark II devices. To make things easier to measure, we have changed the origin of the custom extrinsic from needing to be located on the camera farthest from the iOS camera, to the camera nearest to the iOS camera. This should help when calibrating with Mark II devices with a custom bracket that has large vertical and horizontal offsets.

*Known Issues:*

- While calibrating with the Original Structure Sensor, you may find that the screen goes black after bracket calibration, during the calibration refinement stage, which makes it difficult to proceed. In these cases, please unplug and replug your sensor to restart streaming.
- During bracket calibration for Mark II devices, you may find that the blue dots shown during capture do not coincide to the same points in the Infrared and Color images. This is a known rendering issue, and does not affect the final outcome of calibration.

Version 3.0:

Calibrator has a fresh new look! We've improved the user experience for all calibration modes in order to make this process more user-friendly.

- Calibrator is now optimized for the iPad Mini 5.
- There are new UI features throughout the application.

Known Issues:

- On some older devices (including the iPad Air 2), please ensure you calibrate without a Wide Vison Lens (WVL) prior to calibrating with a WVL. Otherwise, you will not be able to calibrate without a lens after. We will follow up with a fix for this soon. If you run into this issue please contact support@structure.io.

Calibrator 2.3.11:

- Fixes a new issue where users sometimes could not calibrate without a Wide Vision Lens attached.

Version 2.3.10:
- Calibrator is now fully optimized for the new iPad Air (3rd generation)

- Calibrator now features a new checkerboard pattern (old ones still work though!) with additional dots to aid alignment.
- Wide Vision Lens Calibration now has a clearer interface, and the capture process has been simplified. Tough checkerboard captures can now be skipped.

- Calibrator is now compatible with iPad Pro.

Version 2.3.8:
- Bridge Headset users on the iPhone XS can now select this case option during calibration.

- The brightness sensor between indoor and outdoor mode has been tweaked to adapt to the current environment.

Version 2.3.6:

We've fixed a crash on application start on iOS Devices running arm7 architectures.

This version of Calibrator will be the last to support iOS Devices running arm7 architectures. The only Structure Sensor compatible iPad model that will no longer be supported is the iPad 4th Generation (Released November 2012).

In general, devices using an A6 or older processor (devices made before mid-2013), including iPhone 5c and older, will not be supported.

However, even after future Calibrator updates, these older devices will still be able to retrieve this version of Calibrator.
