In this update, we've made sure you can hear touchtones on your end during calls. They always went through, but were previously silent for you, which could be confusing. Now, that's fixed!
We've also made several improvements in the last version:
1. The text input bar no longer hovers mid-screen after hiding the keyboard.
2. When the keyboard is shown, the chat will scroll to display the latest messages.
3. We've updated font and spacing for better readability and fully support dynamic font sizing, bold text, and other accessibility settings in chat bubbles.
4. We've resolved the issue of chat bubbles cropping text, ensuring all content is visible.
5. The conversations list now displays two lines of preview text.

We've improved the texting experience quite a bit in this update:
1. After hiding the keyboard, the text input bar no longer hovers mid-screen
2. After showing the keyboard, we'll scroll the chat bubbles so you see the last messages
3. We've updated the font and spacing so everything is easier to read. Along with this, we now fully support dynamic font sizing and other accessibility settings (bold text, etc.) in the chat bubbles
4. There were a few cases where chat bubbles would crop the text to make it look like some text was missing. This is now fixed!
5. The list of conversations now shows two lines of preview text

We've made some changes to minimize the data we collect. Data minimization is key to protecting your privacy. It's data that can't be hacked, subpoenaed, or otherwise exposed. So we're re-evaluating everything we know about you and asking - is it essential that we know this about user 382743? In many cases, the answer is no.
So what's the data? Well, it's pretty small in this case, but nevertheless important. Previously, we'd ask new users why they were using Unlisted - for personal, business, or work reasons. The idea was to help us understand what we could do better. But ultimately, we don't want to know, and you shouldn't need to tell us. So it's gone. No more question asked. And all the previous answers are deleted.
We'll be working on minimizing more and more data every release. But rest assured that, no matter what, all of your data is always safe and secure. Our business is built on privacy and trust. We promise to never sell your data, track your activity, or show you ads. We're heads down building a profitable, (happily) independent business and there simply is no place for that.

As part of this, we also moved away from using anything by Google. We previously used some of their tools for crash reporting, push notifications, remote configuration, and syncing. But we simply do not trust them to uphold the same privacy standards that we do. So we built our own solutions or switched to use those from Apple. Your privacy is for the better, 100 times over. We've even switched our email hosting away from them so if you write us, you can rest assured that you won't be tracked at all.
We also changed how we store your Unlisted contacts so that they are even more secure. Please note that once you update to this version, changes to your Unlisted contacts will not sync with previous versions of Unlisted.
While updating the contacts code, we also fixed a few issues we found:
- Selecting a phone number type didn't always update to show the selection (now it does)
- The add a phone number button was red, not blue. Now it's blue!

This update fixes two issues:
1. If you have multiple Unlisted numbers, your number's name is now displayed when you get a call so you know which line is ringing. This fixes a change that came about due to the way iOS 14 now displays incoming calls.
2. Anyone with a custom font or accessibility setting might have run into some screens being too large to use. These screens should now adjust automatically and scroll where necessary.

If the number you pick becomes unavailable, you can now pick a new one more easily.

If you're not on an unlimited plan, you may have noticed that outgoing calls that didn't connect showed a duration of a few seconds. You weren't ever actually charged for these seconds, but we've now made this more explicit and the duration shows zero seconds. If the person you called was busy, we now also show "Busy" in the call list.

- If you have enabled notifications, they will now show your contact's name instead of just the phone number!
- VoIP calling is now more reliable for users behind a firewall or router

- Showing your contact's name in the push notification is something we have wanted to do for a long time, but it is tricky since notifications are sent from our server and we don't upload your contacts. This means we don't have any way to put the caller or text sender's name in the notification since we don't actually have it (this is a good thing!). Now what we do is send the same push notification but have the app intercept it before you see it. It then looks up the phone number in your contacts and replaces the number with the contact's name in the notification. So now you will always know who is texting or calling you! This will work for both iOS and private Unlisted contacts. Of course, this is only for users who have actually enabled access to their contacts and have not set their notifications to "Off" or "Private" — in those cases, you won't see anything new here :)

In the end, these two techniques should make sure that far more calls get connected!

This update has a ton of huge updates under the hood, including optimizations to make the app quicker and snappier overall, but we wanted to call out one more huge update: our new VoIP calling system. We've re-implemented it from the ground up and you will see that not only are calls quicker to connect, but also more reliable and with better audio quality.

We have new features in this update that we're excited to share with you!
Two new number options, both accessible from number's Options tab:
- Add a color to a number and it will appear throughout the app. This helps you determine which number you are using when dialing & texting.
- You can set notification settings per number. The options are Normal, Private, and None. This gives you full control over what the notification shows, in case you want to keep certain conversations private.
Another awesome feature being added is the ability to copy and paste images into chat!
