This winter we’ve been busy making our wildfire maps even faster with improved performance. Not only that, our maps are easier to read with brighter roads and easier to read labels. We’ve also added more up-to-date satellite maps as well as topographic maps for better situational awareness.
You may also notice we’ve made interface enhancements for better usability and less clicks when navigating between incidents. You’ll no longer need to use a ‘back’ button to jump back to the main map just like Google and Apple Maps.

We live in the wildlands too and understand how sensitive even a small fire can be to those of us who live in fire affected areas. We’re sorry if this caused any undue stress and we’re happy to provide a way to get even more fine grained control about the alerts you receive.
To enable alerts for these types of incidents, go into the left hand menu and click ’Notifications’. From there you can subscribe to silent incidents in any county. We hope this helps and please reach out to us if you have any questions or concerns at support@watchduty.org.
