Wim Crouwel’s New Alphabet as an iPhone app!
By placing elements onto a grid, the user playfully learns to constructen letters from the New Alphabet font designed by Wim Crouwel in 1967. Limited time is allotted to each puzzle- and if a new level is completed, opens a quote by Wim Crouwel and the meaning of New Alphabet for graphic design-history.
Credits: design and realisation Bram de Leeuw and students from Koninklijke Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten The Hague. Production coördination by Lauwen Projects, based on an idea by Ed Annink (1956-2012). Digital font New Alphabet: Foundry Types LTD.
