Our latest update is all about giving our community members what they want! They wanted more ways to win the $1,000,000 USD* Grand Prize. So, we eliminated the Global Monthly Contest in favor of Global, Weekly Challenge Contests. Our Challenge Contests topics change every week. So, you’ll want to want to tune into our World’s Greatest Videos Show to find out the topic of the week.
Speaking of our Show, this update includes a link to our Weekly Show (which posts on our social media each Friday at 5 p.m. CST, 10 p.m. GMT). The Show is where we announce the winners of the previous week’s Weekly Regional Contests and Global Challenge Contest. We also feature things like Member Spotlights and new features on the app. Our show is our soul. You definitely want to check it out!
So what do all these new contests mean? Now, anyone who wins a Weekly Regional Contest (first place winners in each of our six global regions) or a Weekly Global Challenge Contest is automatically entered into the $1,000,000 USD* Grand Prize Contest in December.
Also new in this update is the number of times a community member can vote for a video. Instead of being able to vote once every two hours, members can only vote one time per video. The World’s Greatest Videos app just got worldlier & greater! We added a bunch of “cations” – Fantastication (yep…that’s a word), Notification and Swipe-ification (ok…we made that word up…but we were on a roll).
Fantastication – The number of achievements you can now get are totally fantastic…like ranking up to earn perks and awards on the app just like you can on the desktop version.
Notification – You’ll now receive notices every time something cool happens…like when someone reacts to your video, or you reach a new reward level.
Swiping – You can now swipe through videos so you can view more videos, more quickly, and vote for the ones you want.
We’ll keep the enhancements coming. And YOU keep us posted about other things you’d like to see on the app!
