APEX Pro (Legacy) Description
APEX Pro is powerful, cost effective, data acquisition for motorsports. APEX Pro's mission is to lower the barrier to quality data acquisition by providing simple to use standalone hardware, controlled by your Apple/ iOS device, and the NEW APEX Pro Lap Timer feature that does not require hardware.

The APEX Pro Hardware uses a 9 Axis IMU, a 10HZ GPS and machine learning to model the track and your vehicle's capabilities. APEX provides real-time feedback via LED's while in car and extensive information on the app post driving session.

Who is APEX Pro for? APEX helps drivers learn to drive the car at the limit of the tire's grip. Whether you are a racer, track day driver, or autocrosser, that is a valuable skill to have. It is a Grip Gauge that shows you where extra grip is being left on the table. APEX Pro customers participate in all types of four wheeled motorsports: Road Racing, Autocross, Rally, Track Days/ HPDE, Time Attack.

What does APEX offer with the APEX Pro Hardware? 10 x GPS accuracy and frequency of the smartphone GPS, APEX’s proprietary machine learning model (APEX Score) for real-time, in-car analysis, MPH/KPH selection, Crew View: Access Live Feed posting of User Records, Ability to post laps to “Top Ten” record board, Extensive post-session analysis, Overlay APEX Score, Speed, Lat G, Long G, OBDII channels (with OBDII hardware), Yaw Rate on GPS image, histogram plots, X,Y chart, and Scatterplot, Lap Replay, Interactive Speedometer, Light Bar replay, AirDrop Data sharing, Overlay laps from different days or sessions at the same track. Gain/ Loss Time overlay on GPS Satellite image.

What does the App offer with APEX Pro OBDII?
For everyday use: Gage cluster for live engine data. Check engine light (MIL) diagnostic codes. Zero-to-sixty MPH timer.
For racing: High quality GPS Lap Timing with Phone GPS, Access to Crew View Live feed, GPS Satellite image overlay with heat maps showing Speed and Long. G, Speed trace and histogram plots for further analysis, OBDII data channels recorded, Lap replay function with interactive speedometer, AirDrop data sharing for data overlay with other drivers on the same track, Auto track selection at hundreds of official tracks around the world. Toggle “Enable Phone GPS Logging” to use the app with no APEX Pro Hardware.

What does the App offer with 'Lap Timer Plus' subscription?
After your first lap on track, the timer can be used to show your predicted lap time or the delta between your current lap and your best so far. This allows competitive drivers to quickly identify the effect of changes in the driving line or the effect of traffic. For review, the track can be split into sectors and a theoretical best lap calculated to set goals for your next session. Video can be recorded during a driving session and then rendered with data overlays after the session.

7.4.2 2019-11-26
Added Gear estimator for OBDII data:

Editor interface makes it easy to fine tune the gear estimator, and saves a set of gear ratios to your phone as the defaults

To set up your gear ratios:
1. Open a session that includes OBDII data from the car you want to configure, best if the session includes high speed straights and start and stop down to zero speed.
2. On the map view, adjust the color channel to ‘Gear’
3. A small gear button appears in the top right corner, select it
4. Slide gear ratios controls to overlap predictions with the bands of data. When you are done, each band of data should be a single color.
5. Save and return - check out the map view, tapping on a few places where you know the gear you expect, to ensure the values are correct
6. The settings are saved to the device used to create them, so they will be the defaults next time you open any session on the same device

Other:

Bug fix for screen locking after adding a second/third session in data review
Bug fixes for gear editor where gear ratio settings did not seem to save
7.4.0 2019-10-30

No longer automatically connects since it was causing slow startup at crowded tracks. Select your device from the OBDII device menu

Requires user permission to stop using APEX Hardware for GPS

iOS 13:
Handles iOS13 BLE permissions to ensure BLE is on before connecting
Fixed error where alerts would not appear or would appear for a second then disappear

7.2.0 2019-08-08
7.2.0 (18)

New OBDII interface!
Pair the APEX Pro App to OBDII over Bluetooth and receive valuable data from your ECU. A new OBDII Dashboard view allows you to display live data and select which data will be logged during a driving session. Gauges on the dashboard can be rearranged + a large landscape view provides higher visibility.
See what is causing your ‘check engine light’ to turn on, go online to find solutions, reset the light once the problem is solved.
Time 0-60 MPH runs with data logging to review shifting and acceleration performance - APEX identifies the vehicle you are in based on OBDII for a fair comparison among other APEX users.
OBDII data is recorded alongside an APEX Pro when on track, or can be logged with only the phone GPS providing position and timing information. Data appears seamlessly in the Data Review, and will be exported as .csv or Airdropped as part of a .apexData file.

> improved session review for iPad with new layout and multiple plots
> reduced memory usage for sharing files
> reduced internet data usage for CrewView startup
> added warning for when APEX Pro hardware is mounted too far from horizontal
> improved speedometer display in CrewView
> re-organized Data Review plotting options based on frequency of use
> 9 new tracks

7.0.2 2019-02-12
Competitive CrewView!

Live leaderboards for every official track. Each time you finish a session, your best lap can be considered for awards, considering Lap Times, best APEX Score, and more. Up-to-date Leaderboards can be seen by choosing any track in the ‘Tracks and Records’ page.
Have a solid past Session you think could be a winner? Visit ‘Data’ and swipe left on any session, choose ‘Top Ten?’ to submit the session for consideration.
New leaders will be updated and posted in the ‘CrewView Live Feed’ as they come in, so you can see how your friends and your rivals stack up.
As we collect submissions, we are now defining a ‘Par’ APEX score for each course (also found in the ‘Tracks and Records’ page). This will provide a community reference for APEX performance since achievable lap-average APEX scores can vary from track to track.

To access these new features, make sure CrewView is ‘enabled’ in your User Settings.

Please note the app may take several minutes to load the first time it is opened after this update, based on the number of sessions you have saved.
