About Access Darts
Access Darts is one or two player darts game designed for switch users and blind players. The game is controlled by a single screen tap, single switch or the microphone.
5 levels of AI player are included for single-player games and numerous options to customise visuals, game speed, speech and audio are also provided. Apple Game Center Challenges and Leaderboards are supported.
• Help for Switch Users •
If you are using iOS Switch Control, we recommend that you use the Tap Middle of Screen or Tap Point Recipe to control the game and options menus. Before starting the game we recommend you go to the iOS Settings App and set Scanning to 'Always' in the Access Darts entry.
• Help for VoiceOver Users •
Before starting the app, we recommend that you visit the Access Darts section of the iOS Settings App to switch Speech and Auto Scanning to Always On. This will enable control of the game and all settings with a single tap and ensure speech isn't turned off by mistake. Use the iOS Accessibility Shortcut (quickly press the Home button 3 times) to turn VoiceOver off after starting Access Darts.
• Best Access Mode •
Settings to maximise accessibility - including slow game speed, auto scanning, sonar and voice prompts - will automatically be applied if no action is taken for 20 seconds after starting Access Darts. Best Access Mode will also override any game settings saved from the previous time the game was played.
• Microphone Control •
You can use your device's built in microphone to play the game and adjust the game settings when auto-scanning is turned on. Three levels of sensitivity are provided - use Low in noisy environments and Boost to pickup quieter voices and control sounds. You will need to allow Access Darts to use the microphone in iOS Settings for this feature to work.
• Optional Touch Gestures •
All game settings can be accessed via menus using a single tap when auto scanning is enabled in the app. To control speed during play use a two-finger tap to step through the game speeds. To abandon a game and to toggle auto-scanning on menu screens use or send a three-finger tap.
• Direct Switch Control (Legacy Switch) •
If you wish to control the app using direct bluetooth switch control (with iOS Switch Control turned off) or a keyboard please enable Legacy Switch in the Access Darts section of the iOS Settings App before starting. This method may lead to jerky game play on older devices.
