Cisco AnyConnect provides reliable and easy-to-deploy encrypted network connectivity from any Apple iOS by delivering persistent corporate access for users on the go. Whether providing access to business email, a virtual desktop session, or most other iOS applications, AnyConnect enables business-critical application connectivity. Through the use of Datagram Transport Layer Security (DTLS), TCP-based applications and latency-sensitive traffic (such as voice over IP [VoIP]) are provided an optimized communication path to corporate resources.
Additionally, AnyConnect support IPsec IKEv2 with Next Generation Encryption.

Features:

- Automatically adapts its tunneling to the most efficient method possible based on network constraints, using TLS and DTLS.
- DTLS provides an optimized connection for TCP-based application access and latency-sensitive traffic, such as VoIP traffic
- Network roaming capability allows connectivity to resume seamlessly after IP address change, loss of connectivity, or device standby
- Wide Range of Authentication Options: RADIUS, RSA SecurID, Active Directory/Kerberos, Digital Certificates, LDAP, multifactor authentication
- Supports certificate deployment using Apple iOS and AnyConnect integrated SCEP
- Compatible with Apple iOS Connect On Demand VPN capability for automatic VPN connections when required by an application
- Policies can be preconfigured or configured locally, and can be automatically updated from the VPN headend
- Access to internal IPv4 and IPv6 network resources
- Administrator-controlled split / full tunneling network access policy

If you are an end-user and have any issues or concerns, please contact your organization’s support department. If you are a System Administrator having difficulties configuring or utilizing the Application, please contact your designated support point of contact.

If you would like to give feedback, suggestions, or leave comments directly to the team, you can reach us on Twitter @anyconnect.

This version is now known as Cisco Legacy AnyConnect and will be phased out over time. The newer Cisco AnyConnect application is now available as a separate download from the App Store. This Legacy AnyConnect version utilizes a deprecated VPN framework and will only receive critical bug fixes going forward.

The new Cisco AnyConnect application uses the latest VPN framework which is more reliable and includes official Per App VPN support (both TCP & UDP applications). To use the new application, you will need to download it or have it pushed via EMM. Re-provisioning/new set up is required for the new application.

EMM vendors must support VPNType (VPN), VPNSubType (com.cisco.anyconnect) and ProviderType (packet-tunnel).
Admins - Please consult with your EMM vendor on how to set up this configuration for your profiles.

Please direct any questions to ac-mobile-feedback@cisco.com.

AutoReconnectBehavior - DisconnectOnSuspend is now only applied to OS automatic VPN configurations to reduce impact on end users with misconfigured headends. If this is enabled in the profile AND the connection was auto established by iOS, any established tunnel will tear down at device sleep (CSCva56275). If this is enabled in the profile and the connection was manually established by a user, this setting will no longer be applied.

Please report issues to us at ac-mobile-feedback@cisco.com. We are unable to respond to your App Store feedback.

4.0.05038 is a bug fix release.

This software is licensed for exclusive use by Cisco headend customers with active Plus, Apex or VPN Only licenses (term or perpetual with active SASU contracts). Use is no longer permitted with Essentials/Premium with Mobile license. AnyConnect use with non-Cisco equipment/software is prohibited.

In conjunction with iOS 9.3 or later, you no longer need to manually connect with AnyConnect prior to using Apple's Connect on Demand features

4.0.x is the first release which is compatible with Apple iOS Per App VPN. This capability must be used in conjunction with a MDM/EMM vendor and requires ASA 9.3(2) or later on an ASA 5500-X or ASAv licensed with an AnyConnect Plus, Apex or VPN Only license. The iOS device must be running iOS 8.3 or later. The Cisco Enterprise Application Selector must be used to create a policy, whether used to enforce additional restrictions or a wildcard policy (controlled solely by EMM/MDM).

While this is an officially supported release, the Per App function does not meet our standards required for TAC support. Please report any Per App VPN feedback to ac-mobile-feedback@cisco.com and not by opening up a Cisco TAC case.

Please report issues to us at ac-mobile-feedback@cisco.com. We are unable to respond to your App Store feedback.
4.0.05036 resolves regression CSCuz33124 which prevented IPv4 tunnel all configurations without an IPv6 address pool from passing data. It also contains bug and security fixes.

This release is a resubmission of our October (4.0.03015) update which due to an App Store processing error did not function properly. Apple has root caused this issue and believes it should now be resolved. We appreciate your patience as Apple worked diligently to investigate and resolve this issue. We know that removing AnyConnect temporarily from the App Store may have been a significant inconvenience for you, but unfortunately it was necessary to prevent additional users from receiving a non-functional update.

4.0.03016 fixes a compatible issue on iOS 9.x with Split Tunnel and Tunnel all DNS configurations for IPv4-only configurations (CSCuw11134) and resolves an issue resulting in incorrect device identifiers after a new device configuration was restored from an earlier device backup.

An issue outside of our control caused the 6/19/14 update to not function properly. Now that this has been resolved, the same software had to be resubmitted with a new version number. We are very sorry for the inconvenience caused by this issue.

3.0.09440 is the exact same version as 3.0.09431 (outside of the build number change).

AnyConnect 3.0.09431 resolves CSCup22547: AnyConnect - Multiple Vulnerabilities in OpenSSL - June 2014 (CVE-2014-3470, CVE-2014-0221, CVE-2014-0224, CVE-2014-0195, CVE-2014-0076). Cisco recommends that you upgrade to this latest release of AnyConnect

Disconnect AnyConnect connection before upgrading
Please make sure your AnyConnect VPN is disconnected when you upgrade. Otherwise, you may fail to connect after the upgrade with the following error: ”Could not connect to VPN server, Please verify internet connectivity and server address.” This issue can be fixed by a device reboot.

Apple iOS Connect On Demand Considerations
To ensure proper establishment of Connect On Demand VPN tunnels after updating AnyConnect, users must manually start the AnyConnect app and establish a connection. If this is not done, upon the next iOS system attempt to establish a VPN tunnel, the error message "The VPN Connection requires an application to start up" will display.
