vPool

The purpose of vPool is to support private car poolers in their daily trip to work, events or common destinations. vPool is for closed and known carpooling teams and therefore not for anonymous lifts. To be able to build the required carpooling team a registration is needed. Further logins are not needed anymore.

vPool provides a flexible car pool management which should encourage car commuters to a frequent carpooling with their private car.

The following functionalities are available:
- manual or automatically car allocation
- driver or passenger can be selected
- return or one way can be selected
- fix departure time within the carpooling team
- several versions of meeting places
- statistics of carpooling activities, kilometer and costs
- individual team and member settings
- push notification

The optimum size of a carpooling team depends on the car seats capacity and carpooling behavior of the team members. Of course the team can also be larger than the car seats capacity, nevertheless first comes first pool...!

vPool tests show that a car occupancy of 2-3 persons can be reached regularly within a car pooling team of 6 persons.
