《山和女孩》是一款2D横屏解谜游戏，玩家将扮演一个经历着灰暗童年的小女孩—九月，去深山中寻找她祖父生前讲的鸾鸟。鸾鸟是一种栖息在雾行山中神鸟，传说见到它，身边的人和自己就能获得安宁。

在寻找鸾鸟的过程中，玩家需要解决关卡中的难题，找到关键道具，帮助九月越过一段又一段的山路，拯救各种各样的小动物，并与九月消极、抑郁，黑暗的另一面展开斗争，帮助九月找到找到进入雾行山的路，并最终找到栖息在山中的鸾鸟，获得安宁。
