Một người được trao truyền y bát từ khi còn rất trẻ, phải trải qua nhiều gian nan, có khi bị đồng đạo đuổi theo đòi lại y bát, bị cướp phá chùa, đốt rừng làm hại, nhưng hòa thượng đều vượt qua được. Đây là tác phẩm duy nhất của phật giáo Trung Hoa được gọi là kinh.
