Gazeta “Koha jone” është e para gazetë në Shqipëri, e cila u themelua e pavarur dhe e lirë me 11 maj 1991. Fillimisht nisi si një gazetë lokale e Lezhës, me 500 kopje dhe botohej një herë në javë, por më pas u rrit duke u bërë gazeta më e madhe shqiptare, deri sa arriti në 88 mijë kopje shitje në ditë dhe e përditshme.

“Koha Jone” u përballë me dhunën, arrestimet dhe djegien nga pushteti, pushtete të cilat asnjëherë nuk e kanë patur mirë me “Koha Jone”, pasi ishte gazeta e cila nuk donte miqësi me pushtetet.

Nga dyert e “Koha Jone” kanë dalë pothuaj mbi 70 përqind e drejtuesve, analistëve dhe gazetarëve të sotëm shqiptarë, të cilët janë ndër më të njohurit e tregut mediatik.
