About Move: Smart Pacer

We live in a world where an increasing number of people lead sedentary lives. The modern way we work, access food, socialize, and entertain ourselves can all be accomplished from the comfort of our homes.

However, this lifestyle shift has led to a significant rise in chronic diseases. Obesity, mental health issues, diabetes, sleep disorders, and more are diagnosed more frequently than ever before.

Our advanced medical system, which has been managing these issues, is now overwhelmed. If this trend continues, it threatens to reduce our average life expectancy.
Currently, people take an average of fewer than 4,000 steps per day, which is insufficient. Medical professionals and scientists often liken our lack of movement to the 'new tobacco' or 'the silent killer.'

But there's hope: recent studies reveal that taking 8,000 steps per day can reduce the risk of early mortality by 50% compared to 4,000 steps. Additionally, these studies demonstrate that the adverse effects of inactivity on our bodies can be reversed in just two years.

This transformation doesn't demand a gym membership or running a half marathon. All it requires is that we move more. So, let's come together to move more with our friends and reverse the sedentary trend.

Move uses HealthKit data calculate your step count. The app will require read-only permissions for step data during onboarding.
