Going to keep this short, since we’ve got a lot cooking and we gotta get right back to work. But don’t let the brevity fool you – this update is packed with improvements focused on making the app faster and more reliable for everyone. We’ve been blown away by our growth over the past couple months, by new creators and fans alike, and are excited about the changes coming down the pipe. Heads up, the Moderator role is changing. The new Moderator role has a very limited set of permissions focused on chat moderation. The new Creator role has the same permissions as the old Moderator role. You can manage these roles and more from the room settings screen.

Introducing Room Analytics! Creators can now track their room’s key metrics and earnings over time. Metrics are available immediately after ending an event, and are accessible any time through the new Analytics dashboard. And creators not yet eligible for compensation can now track their progress toward eligibility as their room grows.

Have you ever wondered what it takes to get started as a creator? Have you ever joined a Playback room and thought, man, I want to start one of these things. Well, we’re super excited to announce that as of this latest update, all it takes to start creating live NBA content is the Playback iOS app and an NBA League Pass account! Room creation is officially open to everyone and fully supported in the app. Create your own room to watch along with friends, launch your live commentary career, or introduce your existing community to a better way to watch live sports.
And for the existing Playback creators among you, we’re also pumped to share that this update brings full room settings to iOS. Edit your profile, community settings, and room roles & permissions directly from the app.

Watch the stream in full screen by rotating your phone! We made some improvements to smooth out the full screen transition and removed the orientation lock. Just rotate your phone to the right or left while you're in a live room and the stream will take over the entire screen. If you prefer to keep your device orientation locked you can continue using the full screen button in the stream overlay.
This update also fixes an issue causing increased device temperature and battery drain.

We've added search, so you can now find communities by name, league, team and more! We've also improved the login and signup flows, cleaned up a bunch of UI, squashed some bugs, and made lots of improvements under the hood to optimize app performance and stability.
