Alto's Adventure

We've updated Alto's Adventure to introduce a handful of quality of life improvements and to better support a number of recently released devices, including:

• Improved ProMotion support for iPhone 12, 13 Pro/Pro Max and iPad Pro devices.
• Native resolution support for 2021 iPad Mini.
• Improved Zen Mode swipe input detection.
• Texture compression improvements for iOS 12.5.5 devices.
• General usability and performance improvements.

Hello Adventurers! With the release of iOS 14 we’re bringing a few improvements to Alto’s Adventure to make your journey through the mountains a smooth one. This update includes:
• A fix for a visual issue introduced with iOS 14 - this consisted of the characters and the environment looking a little blocky / distorted the further down the mountain you travelled.
• ProMotion (120hz) support for iPad Pro. This can be enabled in your in-game settings menu. Please be aware that enabling ProMotion may affect battery life.

This update prevents Game Center notifications for achievements you've already earned.

We've updated Alto's Adventure to continue to work great on the latest versions of iOS and the newest devices.

Even with the recent release of Alto's Odyssey, we wanted to make sure players are having the best Alto's Adventure experience possible. In this update:

• 3D Touch toggle disabled by default to avoid confusion about wingsuit activation.
• Dimmed the Home Indicator on iPhone X for a less obtrusive play experience.
• Fixed a bug that caused iCloud, Haptics, and 3D Touch checkboxes being hard to tap on iPhone X.
• Implemented a consistent icon next to player names on the leaderboard screen.
• Quick Character Select (long press on character icon) will now dismiss properly if you lift your finger during the animation.
• Haptics toggle button will now display properly on iPhone 8 and iPhone X.
• Corrected an issue with the Gift Shop that was causing incorrect cart data to display after starting a fresh cart.

In optimizing for iPhone X, we accidentally caused menus to disappear across a range of older devices. This update fixes that. Invisible menus no more!

Alto is iPhone X-ready. We've tailored the game to fit the new edge-to-edge display, allowing you to see more of the mountain than ever.

No score, no game over, no distractions. Just you and the endless mountain. Put on a pair of your favourite headphones and immerse yourself in a soothing new soundtrack, composed especially for Zen Mode. Swipe from the right edge of the Title Screen to begin!

PHOTO MODE

Photo Mode puts you behind the camera to capture stunning photos from your own personal adventures! Frame the perfect shot and easily share it to Facebook, Twitter, and more – or save it to your device for later (and for sharing on Instagram)! Enable Photo Mode from the pause menu at any time.

• Fixed a bug that caused the game to freeze when selecting to use helmets and chasm rescues

The Workshop Update!

Izel’s been busy crafting some exciting new items in her workshop for you to try! Grab a helmet or two, level up your wingsuit, and keep an eye out for that llama stampede! But that’s not all – we’ve also made some further tweaks and improvements, including support for five new languages!

HELMETS

Carved from wood, these helmets will protect you from a single crash each. They wont help with chasms though!

PICKAXES

These magical pickaxes will save you from a single chasm crash each.

LLAMA HORN

A blast from this mighty horn will cause a llama stampede! Once purchased, this item will appear at random on the mountainside.

LLAMA HORN STRENGTH

Increase the strength of the llama horn to cause even bigger stampedes!

WINGSUIT TIMER

Increase the duration of the wingsuit timer to fly even greater distances!

COIN MAGNET & HOVER FEATHER

Upgrade the magnet and feather timers even further than before!

First off, thank you all so much for playing Alto’s Adventure. It’s been an incredible few days, and we can’t thank you enough for your support and kind reviews!

We also appreciate your ongoing patience as we work on fixing the first few bugs. As always, there will be more we haven’t caught, but we’re doing our best to ensure the game runs as smoothly as possible for everyone!

Bug fixes:

- Fixed bug that would prevent tricks/goals registering while sounds were disabled in the menu
- Fixed bug that would prevent wingsuit activating on synced devices, or when app deleted/reinstalled
- Fixed bug preventing some Game Center achievements from unlocking
- Fixed bug that would prevent intro sequence and title screen UI appearing
- Fixed bug that would allow infinite wingsuit flying
- Fixed error with German social share text
- Improved detection of “Backflip over a sleeping elder” goals in levels 24 and 43

Tweaks:

- Allow background audio to play from other apps
- Increased frequency of ramps on steep hills to assist with double/triple backflip goals
- Added new "ramp to grind" sequences to help with goals that require them
- Level 42, goal 2, has been reduced from "30 birds" to “20 birds”
- Increased tap area of wingsuit button
- Localization tweaks based on player suggestions
