"Panic Room: Casa dos Segredos" é mais que um jogo no gênero hidden object (busca de objetos). É um thriller de ação e uma parábola filosófica no modo interativo. O seu objetivo é examinar uma grande mansão vitoriana: encontrados os itens definidos nos seus quartos e salas magnificamente decorados, você aprenderá cada vez mais sobre o passado desse local. Só na história da quinta cheia de tragédias humanas, traições e assasinatos você achará a chave à desejável liberdade. Alguns dos cativos tais como você vão ajudá-lo, outros vão jogar areia nas engrenagens. Tudo depende do lado ao que você juntará: os Seguidores tentam encontrar um grão da verdade e um sentido instrutivo nas ações do maníaco-Títeriteiro, que põe e dispõe na casa enquanto o Subterrâneo com todas as forças procura fazer face à loucura.
