A Rádio Silvestre iniciou suas atividades em 2 de abril de 1988, através da ideia visionária de seu fundador, o jornalista e empresário João Silvestre.

Sempre foi apaixonado pela comunicação, trabalhou nas Rádios Clube de Goiânia, Independência de Aparecida-GO, entre outras, sempre teve o sonho de possuir sua própria emissora, assim, apareceu a oportunidade de adquirir uma em sua cidade natal Itaberaí, não medindo esforços para consegui-lá.
